In 09 I thought my god we finally made it back to the Championship game and it only took 10 + years. After we lost to the Colt's I thought "Dear god do I have to endure another 10 years before my beloved team makes it back"? Then in 2010 the Jets showed signs of dominance and then Took their arch rival down in commanding form. After falling behind to the steelers in the following years Championship game a light came on and the Jets Smashed Pitt right in the mouth and came almost all the way back. I believe we only allowed 2 first downs to Pitt in the second half and wouldn't you know it it was the two first downs to ice the game. Once again My thoughts turned to the difficult feat of making an AFC championship game and what were the chances of making it to another one. This year I had a really good feeling about my team . We parted ways with some real good players and trudged on to what ended as a complete disaster ; who didn't see this coming . The Giants and the Pat earned their spots regardless of how we feel . On one hand I don't want the Giants to be able to place another Superbowl trophy in their case and on the other I so despise the Pats and Tom Brady in particular that I can only say I have to root for the Giants. Plus my two older Brothers are Giants fans...Not dick fans either. They root for the Jets when we are doing good and in the playoffs.
This is a good point and very true. However, its just not enough that we have to have a bad season, but then we have to endure yet ANOTHER giants pats superbowl. I can't imagine watching this one, I can't stomach it.
By the way, Sean Ellis is going to get a ring.......with the Patriots. This just gets worse and worse.
What do the multi-SB winners all have in common? Hall of Fame QBs. There is LESS championship parity in the NFL, a salary cap sport, than there is in the MLB, an unlimited spending sport. And then there are the Bills, who have the HOF QB and four years in a row got shit on in the big game, only to never get close again once he left.
and with the emphases on passing and the shitty rules for defensive players, the QB is/will be more important than it ever was in the past.
p. manning has only won one sb and doesn't look like he'll win another but he's a first ballot HoF qb
and Ihedigbo and Ochocinco! that guy gets a ring and an all time great like Revis will get ????? two devastating AFC title games in a row?
Can't forget Danny Woodhead either. However, I think Im leaning more towards the Pat winning this one. Really matters for shit though because Im not even going to watch it.
I have at least 6 friends that rooted for the jets in the playoffs these past 2 years that are giants fans. I'm not going to return the favor, but i know a lot of giants fans that root for the jets to win when their team doesn't make it.
I'd much rather watch a game between two teams I feel indifferent towards and just hope for a really good game. I just can't get any enjoyment out of watching 2 teams I loathe compete for a World Championship.
^one of the teams has to lose. There's nothing worse than being first loser. Somebody is going to enjoy a shitty offseason with us.
That's actually wrong. Jim Plunkett Joe Theismann Doug Williams Mark Rypien Ben Roethlisberger then you have Hall of Fame QBs who never won Jim Kelly Fran Tarkenton
Only a someone whose team hasn't been to the Super Bowl in his/her lifetime would say something so ignorant.
