This is exactly what happens when the owner hires a incompetant GM & HC & OC. However having been a NYJ fan since 65 this is NO different then any other year since they won the SB 01/13/69

I understand the sentiment that this season had a particular way of being disappointing that is depressing and deflating, and just add another D is also, in terms of going forward, disconcerting, too.

But from my perspective it played out over several weeks, really from the second NE loss on, so to change to s words, while shitty it was NOT surprising.

And as for the playoffs, I thought at some point it was getting pretty clear that the Jets were becoming not only increasingly unlikely to make it but even if they did were not playing well enough to go to the SB, anyway. And for NE and the Giants to be back in the SB? Well, I kind of like the Packers for their players, their organization and the way they are more about the town they are from than about corporate owners and that sort of thing, so I was disappointed they got knocked out early. But if the Jets are, once again, not playing in the SB, who really cares who is in it? It's been that way since 1969, so who wants to get all upset about this particular year? It's more of a meh thing than something that should lead to suicidal thoughts. Let's be reasonable here.

As far as being a fan of the Jets, what that means to me, once you get beyond what are really the irrational reasons to choose any team to be a fan of, is that there is actually a benefit. You realize how stupid are fans who follow teams that have more success, and then think that somehow makes THEM better people. It teaches you how for all the good things in life, it can also involve a lot of disappointment. And then how to deal with that.

I enjoy each season, each game won, even if they do not lead to a championship. Even losses are occasions for considering what went wrong and what can be fixed going forward. It's like figuring out a puzzle. Along the way we encounter players and people who as characters play roles that vary, and we see the connection, or oack of it, between what we think are their different characters and their performance on the field.

It's like watching an epic unfold, a narrative that proceeds from event to event, each one different, but all part of a journey, all part of a single whole called the Jets.

Relatively bad times like right now seem depressing, back to the D's, but to me the experience is, for all it's disappointments, a beautiful thing.

So stay being a Jet fan. It won't kill you even if they go 4-12 next year, even if your Giant fan neighbor elevates his cock sucking behavior the next two weeks, and perhaps even more so if they beat NE. It won't kill you if Broadway Mark only replicates Namath's off field success bagging women, not his SB win. It won't kill you to watch the Jets Post Game show after a grinding loss, with Rex lying through his teeth in the post game presser.

    Hang in there.

Overall based on his performance Rex is far from incompetent. Is Harbauh incompetent. No he is not. Rex has done well 2 of 3 years. He is not a failure.

When U supposedly a well respected HC but lose the L/room you ARE A FAILURE. If Woody was not so cheap & chose not to eat the last 2 years of RRs contract he would have already been shown the door just like Man & Herm were before RR

Jets Were Key Factors In Super Bowl

Both the Patriots and Giants were reeling....came into MetLife....won....and never lost again.

    Great job, Rex & Jets.

It all starts with our owner, Woody is nothing more than a billionaires son with a toy trying to sell PSL's . When his West Side Stadium plan was railroaded, we crawled back to that pile of shit swamp land to be the Giants bitches once again.
Wish we went back to Shea. We are never going to succeed playing there.
We are just red headed step child's of NYC, as soon as we figure how to fix that with our play then maybe we will go somewhere.

This has literally been the worst sports year I've experienced in a while. My poor Knicks look like shit and killed themselves financially in the offseason by signing a $15 mill role player. The Mets let Reyes go and appear to be headed nowhere. And the Jets, we squandered opportunities to set back BOTH Superbowl teams. Our loss against BOTH the Pats and the Giants ignited a momentum in both their seasons. I hate both teams and the ultimate dagger for me was losing to Tim Tebow. Furthermore, the fact that we lost because of Eric Smith, once again, made it even worse. Only bright spot was Schotty leaving.

When I get older and have children, I will let them choose their own path.

Or I can be a sadistic father and force the Jets upon them.

You Can't Make This Stuff Up -- More Jet Bad Luck

What were teams against on FG's this year, something like 97% ? 7 out of 8 from 50+ yards ?? Nobody missing against US all year......

The best FG kickers this year are in the low-90's and the league average is about is at about 85%....and yet against us, it was higher figures on total and 50+ FGs' than any single kicker.

And yet....the f****** Pats are going to the SB because a choke artist misses a 32-yard FG !! Has anybody EVER missed a game-tying/winning FG against us of less than 40 yards? I go back to the early-1970's and I can't recall it EVER happening. Pats are so lucky it's unreal.

    Unreal.....SOJ.

    LOL

Why is this Jets Bad luck. The Jets were not even playing. Lets focus on the Jets and not other teams. It is sad that most Jets fans are now only haters.

I'm a Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs fan...neither team has won since the 60s. Both seem to be the laughing stock of their respective leagues at times. I'm not sure why the sporting gods hate me, but they do.

I believe Kyle Williams and Billy Cundiff will be enrolling in Tim Tebow's school of clutch this offseason.

Jesus Christ, Giants scored 10 points in 2nd half/OT all thanks to Kyle Williams and his inability to get out of the way and hold on the a ball in the most important game of his life.

I don't know why that's such a negative, it's not as if Ellis walked out on us, he was pushed out the door. He gave us ten+ good years, he's part of the reason I'm leaning towards going to the dark side next week.
