Stay classy JET fans, The JETS have already left New York remember....... And this is some BS anyway.
While I think a rebuild is in order, making the Jets an expansion team ala the Cleveland Browns would be a huge step in the wrong direction.
Seeing how we have already had one New York Raiders franchise I guess some would like to see that rematerialize, albeit in the world of professional football? If Woody Johnson sold this team to St. Louis interests and the agreement meant the colors, logo, and name, would be left behind for a new expansion franchise with new ownership and the potential to move the team back to Queens in a brand new stadium while playing 2-3 years in the utterly charmless MetLife Stadium (or, Giants Stadium II) until the new stadium was ready, I would sign on the dotted line for all of this tomorrow.
If the Jets move i think i might move my fandom to the Giants, just to have that NY connection i guess. Id take a while but personally Odell Beckham Jr has already been my favorite non jet player for the past couple of seasons so along as they get a new QB ( I hate Eli) this actually might not be the worst thing after all.
I think if Woody moves the team he will share us alot of heartbreak for the next 50 years. I'll be a Dallas fan then. At least I'll have a good history to look back on and an owner who always wants to win. Not 2 decades of loosing under him, and embarrasment
Why would the NFL permit the Jets to move to St. Louis and then put an expansion team in NY? Why not just put an expansion team in St Louis ? (a market that has failed twice). Or why not move the Chargers to St. Louis? This is a ridiculous thread. The Jets make money despite playing second fiddle to the Giants. No such move is happening.
C'mon man, it's the post-season, and us historically unrequited Jets fans need fodder for football talk that doesn't involve the playoffs.
I agree with you but the NFL works in strange ways when the Browns left they gave them an expansion team, when the Colts left they gave them the Ravens, when the Cards left they gave them the Rams, all ridiculous if you ask me
Nobody has yet replaced the Chicago Cardinals. Now that NY and LA are both back to two teams, Chicago must be next. I think they should do what the Oilers did, and pull an old unused name from the NFL history books. Chicago Bulldogs (after the Canton Bulldogs). Just please not the Staleys. What the hell is a Staley? I suppose they could be the Chicago Oilers...
