Not sure how you can judge things yet -- missing your 1, 2, and 3 WR can't help and Wayne Hunter's inability to play offensive line is a glaring issue the team ignored for 7 months.

as we know they do hand out Lombardi's in preseason.

Of course it can, if receivers are open sooner it gives DEs less time to get by Hunter.

This is a stretch. When you're talking fractions of a second getting it from the o-line is going to be more useful than getting it from the receivers.

every franction of a second counts. The biggest problem on the O is the OL and the RT but having a fuill compliment of weaposn would absolutely help sanchez who played well despite the OL issues.

Well that I agree with. I just think that if you put Holmes and Kerley out there and leave Hunter, it'll still be smash your head against a wall frustrating.

The backup WRs are uninspiring. Hunter is a team changer in the worst way.

Jets fucked up big time. They have put themselves in a situation where they can eat WFH salary & still not be able to get somebody better to play RT.

Unless Sanchez can hold onto the ball long enough for Hill to get open down the field, it's not even worth trying. Would rather see him get the ball out quickly & limit the turnovers. Holding onto the ball as DL constantly batter him around while Sanchez has shown fumble problems isn't worth the risk.

But this is one of the problems with Sanchez. He's not good under pressure, and his general problem of reading defenses poorly is exacerbated when he is under pressure. If he tries to get the ball out before he knows what the D is doing, watch the turnover count go up.

"I wanted Wayne Hunter, so the last thing I would ever want to see happen is not have Wayne Hunter as the starting right tackle," DeGuglielmo said. "He’s big, he's athletic, he’s aggressive, he's a smart guy, he practices at top speed, he practices physical, he pays attention to detail. Everything you give him to do on the field, he does it, and he does it naturally." (Dave DeGuglielmo)

Countdown to Dave DeGuglielmo pink slip day...

Why do I get the urge to call him "Googy" or "GoogLIEelmo"?

He'll still be a problem but maybe not as glaring of a one if we can get the ball in the receivers hands earlier. Kerley and Holmes can actually make people miss. Maybe if they start catching some balls and getting first downs the Giants have to change their coverage and maybe not rush as many.

A couple tenths of a second makes a huge difference

the first team offense looked just as bad, if not worse, in the 2010 pre-season

I read someplace that DeG doesn't speak to the media anymore after EZPass is making him hate that statement he made.

"SSS" does look a lot cooler than "HSS".

There is a problem there. The few times Sanchez has had time, it looks like battered qb syndrome & he's reacting to expected pressure. Right now Sanchez isn't an elite qb & isn't capable of reading the D & making the right judgement before he even sets back in the pocket.

This is why I'd rather go with the quick dump offs. Last year, not only was Sanchez throwing interceptions but he was fumbling the ball. This offense has too many holes for Jets to expect big plays or consistent success.

This season's D is gonna have a really small margin for error. Minimize Sanchez potential mistakes is the way to go.
