This type of tension has been encouraged the entire time Obama administration has been in office, hell probably even before him during the W years. The government does not want unity within its people, it wants discord. It has and always will be easier to control large portions of the population when they are fractured in discord rather than united and living peacefully.

What we are seeing in the last few years is a 180 degree turn in "racism" or better yet bigotry. 50 years ago no one would have batted an eye if a gay couple were refused a wedding cake, now its national news. People 50 years ago would be shocked if someone refused service to a LEO, now no one bats an eye.

This is why no sane person, let alone a person of color, would run for POTUS. just not worth the effort trying to herd cats in one direction.

 

I get that my post might sound that way, but it really isn't that simple. There are good cops and bad cops, in fact the majority are good. But, it's not like police shootings are a new thing. The employees probably will be fired, but they aren't discriminating against race, religion, ethnicity or preference. They are trying to make a statement against an organization who they perceive to routinely gun down innocent people.

Police officer is a profession, if people want to try to change the system by making a non violent statement such as this, I have no problem with it. You can't change a flawed system by sitting at home and doing nothing. Violence is counter productive and does not help anything, only escalates tensions between the 2 sides. This is how people should protest rather than shooting down innocent police officers that had nothing to do with what the bad ones did.

I work for an advertising company, in sales. If I went out to eat and they told me they didn't serve salesmen, I'd simply laugh and go somewhere else.

 

Make a non violent statement against some cops that are probably hundreds of miles away from the occurrence these people had a problem with. It's the same as any discrimination .... Blaming unrelated people based on the color of their uniform

 

I stand corrected. There are still brain dead protesters chanting obsolete slogans designed for max effect on the media. Since they never show up for black on black murder but only murder by cops, I dont really care for them as this isn't a cause, but a vendetta against LEO's everywhere good and bad.
