That was my thinking in Week 2 after Brady went down. It's going to come down to more than the QB, if not we'd have beaten them then.

Nah..I already explained that. Favre knew about 35% of the play book in week 2 and knew very little at all about 3-4 defenses. He rarely had to play against them in the NFC. This is a whole new game tomorrow.

I think it was more than the Qb because he did not know the team yet. Now he knows the plays and hopefully Keller will be a big part of the offense as well. If the D plays decent I think the Pats can be had. As a matter of fact I think we can go to their house and beat them good this week.

Very true, but it still comes down to much more than the QB. We're running the ball much better now as the O-line has come together. Our defense has gotten turnovers the past two games, that's going to be the factor, I think.

Their DL is no longer elite and they prove that every week...the rest we will just have to wait and see.

The point I was making was that this time around we have a QB too. We lost by 9 points last time without one. Since then everything on the Jets has gotten better and everything on NE has gotten worse. I don't know why I am the only one who sees this.

Because New England keeps winning games, that's why. They're not unbeaten this time, but it's not like they've crumbled regardless of who they lost. They lost Brady for fuck's sake, what other team is in first place after losing a guy like that and playing a QB who hasn't started since high school? They use WRs at DB if they have to, it's not your normal football team. That's why they're in just about everyone's heads but the Colts and the Giants.

Believe me, I hope you are right. I want to believe you are right. I will gladly eat crow. But I don't see it happening.

That's because years of PBLS (Pavlov's Bell Losing Syndrome) have turned even the best of us into insecure, unconfident, crybabying, dysfunctional, whimpering little shadows of our former NFL manhood.

We're talking 40 years of having others rub our noses in our own poop and whack us on the ass with an occasional newspaper when we misbehave by sheepishly slipping in the back door for a wildcard spot, something we're sure we don't ever deserve.

This is generations... generations even, of conditioned negative behavioral reinforcement, manifesting itself in public exhibitions of self-destruction and overt masochistic tendancies coupled with latent bouts of mild to severe depression, depending on the NFL season at hand.

PBLS is no laughing matter, believe me. But there is a cure, and it all starts with kicking NE's ass tomorrow night. From there, continued therapy is strongly recommended, like whipping Buffalo and Miami the second time and eliminating all three not only from the AFC crown, but ensuring they don't even get to sniff a wildcard spot. The prescribed followup is usually to seize the NFL Superbowl Championship, preferrably by beating the NY Giants.

you perpetuate the mentality that will keep you or any of us from ever watching another AFC championship appearance.

    Change it.

I will guarentee a Jets win this week! Jets: Favre throwing 2tds and 1 ints threw the air, Thomas Jones rushing for over 100 yards and 1 td, Jay Feely will nail 2/3 FG attempts. D will play OK not great but in the end stop the patriots on forth and 4 with an int when the Jets are up by 6 points.
Pats: Matt Cassel will throw 1td and 1 int threw the air and Ben Jarvis Green Ellis will rush for 70 yards and 1 td. Also the int Favre threw will be a Pick Six.

    Final score: Jets-27 Pats-21

    A game worth watching!

Is PBLS the reason why some fans root for us to get a better draft pick instead of winning? Or are they just assholes?

those people are retarded, because the really high draft picks are usually busts. Not recently, but decades of shitty top picks.

They're assholes, but they're assholes that just happen to also suffer from severe PBLS. Not every PBLS sufferer is an asshole, but many assholes suffer from PBLS in addition to being complete assholes.

God, what I wouldn't give, to see us crush Belicheat's team tomorrow. A 41-7 trouncing would be better than great sex.

I can't wait for this friggin' game to get started. The anxiety is killing me....

Honestly, on paper the jets are the superior team.

Overall: The jets defense is leagues ahead of hte pats. In fact, most thought the pats d was overrated last season, and it showed as the season wore on that teams that were willing to spread them out... t hey just couldn't keep up with them. AKA: You can throw the ball against the pats. Their run D is still decent, but their pass defense sucks.

We still, technically, have the advantage at QB mostly due to experience, leadership, and the fact he has a ring on one of his fingers. WR edge (in terms of just the wr's) does go to NE, but hte advantage on the OL is about push. RB edge goes to the jets who have a very nice 1-2 punch. TE advantage goes to Jets, with a young up and coming star in keller, an experienced probowler in Franks who has many years of service with #4, and there is always baker, who is solid at best.

On paper, the jets are the better football team. On the field? I think it's clear the patriots,e ven without brady, held a edge in week two. There were a lot of new parts added to the jet's via draft and FA that were still feeling their way around, including a QB that pretty much just got tossed into the fire after a week. This time around, NE has come together enough to get cassel fully engrossed in the offense, and the Jets have gotten their guys engrossed as well. From Favre, Faneca, and Woody, all the way to Kris Jenkins and Calvin Pace. Plus, the jets just went out and got Ty Law, who is a upgrade over coleman, and down the stretch, may be more consistent then the rookie CB.

I do feel this game is going to come down to which QB has a better performance. Can favre come up big in a big game yet again? Or are the Pats really just that good, with or without Tom Brady. We're about to find out.

JETS win big (34-17), then go on to beat the Titans, which in turn has everyone thinking we're on our way!!!
