But what's the meaning of making pick 36 the separation point? Seems arbitrary. Classifying by round is meaningful because it reflects that every team had a chance on a player but passed. Top ten of the first round also has meaning as that is considered the most valuable slot of the draft.
36 is important because it's the cutoff point that skews the statistics in favor of his argument the most.
The point is that unless you get very lucky (Tom Brady) all but 2 of the last 14 championships were won by guys picked in the top 36. The point is that only one 2nd round pick outside of the top 4 picks of the round has ever won a Super Bowl and that was Kenny Stabler back in 1978. For whatever reason picks 37 to the end of the round are like a no-man's land for QB's. You almost never find a great player there.
I am sorry Geno for you missing wide open Harvin and throwing a dumb pick at the end of the game even though you were only asked to do very little. I am sorry for the 3 turnovers you let up against the Bills at MetLife. I am sorry your only win as a QB this year was against the worst team in the NFL. I am sorry that you don't know what the play is and wastes timeouts. I am sorry how the fans and media are towards you as a result. I am sorry you also make millions of dollars to do something you aren't even good at.
The original post is correct for Monday Night. Geno was not set up to succeed, however...............He sucks ass.
Backup QB for good QBs that can hang around for 10-15 years would be an awesome job. Get millions of dollars, practice but don't get hurt, nobody dislikes you, you just crack jokes with the media, and then you retire and take a gig on TV and make more money and you have your health.
No. I usually get up early on Saturdays and watch the Premier League and go back to bed. Pac-12 matches aren't usually till later. Don't worship at the SEC altar sorry. Sunday is more my day. There is WAY too much football out there.
thought of this guy as soon as i read this. google search came up with this rather quickly http://www.armchairassociation.com/2009/10/15/i-wanna-be-jim-sorgi/
Yes, the Jets, especially with Rex, don't get QBs to play to their potential. It's tough to be a fan of this team.
