We'll see who's correct next year. Thanks for sparing me your green tinted "explanation."

We heard all the same bullshit last year about how we weren't even going to make the playoffs this year. BB is Rex's bitch.

The Packers are definitely constructed better @ this point but they have a stellar QB and that helps a shit ton.

For all the trading of draft picks that Tannenbaum has done, the Jets have surprisingly fared well when important players get injured.

Not that I want to further test that theory with 16 ir'ed players....just saying.

Just wanted to say how funny it is their genius DC was the same DC that was on a staff that went 1-15 .....lol

Of course I will make the assumption that the Jets will continue to be good as a fan. It doesn't change the fact that it is likely given the core of the team.

Implying Sanchez was the anywhere near the reason the team lost those two title games :drunk:

If he was really elite he'd have gone to OLB and got the ball back himself.

Tanny up to this point has been just as good as any of them. He just doesn't have the longevity yet.

The Jets don't? We probably have the 2 best OLine backups in the NFL. And one of them was thrust into the starting position. We lost 2 major pieces on our DLine and the team allowed 2, 100 yard rushers the entire 19 game season. Yes the Jets need a legitimate pass rusher. But Rex's scheme is predicated on top notch corners and i think we have the secondary loaded up pretty much.

Your point is valid, but the philosophy of taking the BAP isn't necessarily as much a problem as you seem to suggest. Besides Tanny is not necessary the one "falling in love" with the draft choices. We pretty much know now that The Ghash was a Mangini pick. Rex was super high on Conner when Conner smashed the LB Rex was originally interested in. Other articles/interviews have suggested that Rex & Westhoff love finding the diamonds in the rough. The UDFA's that play above their levels. Peterson & Clinkscales have proven that they are top notch talent evaluators.

When your head coach talks about "Ground and Pound" offense, you better have a b/u FB on the roster to come in and take the reigns. I think picking up Conner was a great move. He has a chance to learn behind one of the top FB's in the league on a "running team". If TRich decides to retire this off-season, then Conner steps in with some seriously good tutelage. I certainly won't question the moves for Conner, even McKnight at this point because JMcK hasn't gotten enough game time to prove anything yet except he can gash the shit out of the Bills.

Conner's disappearing act lends itself to a couple of missed block that his Sanchez so the vet of 16 years is going to have the majority of carries. Conner still made some devastating block on ST for Westy so I am confident Conner will be a starter for 2011 because I don't expect TRich back. The Jets will not carry 2 FB's two seasons in a row unless there is some special exception with TRich

You have some very valid points in your argument, albeit slightly flawed. I obviously went over the top mocking you with the "fire Tanny bit" but you certainly don't give the Jets FO their just credit. Granted the Tanny regime is still a work in progress and the FO has to prove their mettle and abilities on a consistent basis. However, even when I take off the green colored glasses, I see a top notch FO. Anyone would have to admit that this FO has been a top 10, if not scratching the top 5, in the league since early 2000 and even more so since Tanny has taken over.

EDIT: If my recall is correct, Holmes, Braylon, & Cro are all going to be compensatory picks should they leave the Jets. I remember reading that from somewhere so we will end up with picks (ir)regardless if they are resigned or not.

Did the rest of the country happen to notice that Sanchez played great in both AFCCG's (and 10x better than Roethlisberger)??? We would have played in the last 2 SB's if everyone played their positions as well as he did in those games.

That is the dumbest statement I've ever read.

During the season you people could have a argument.

Sanchez has played great in the playoffs, and both AFCCG losses had nothing to do with him. Do you watch the playoffs? Sanchez OWNS 2 rookie playoff records.

What the rest of the country is doing is acting ignorant because they are insanely jealous of Mark. Our D is so great because of our coach. Put our D players on almost any other team and they aren't cracking the top 5.

We've had roster changes on offense so frequently since Mark's been here and many blame the OC for his shitty playcalling.

What's funny is "the rest of the country" coming into the season was saying how so many other teams had a better WR crew. For some reason outsiders never give Sanchez credit for a win and he gets all the blame for a loss.

    Do you watch football? seriously

Not to mention all the "the Jets are lucky" crap when they win a tight one like in detroit or cleveland. when other QB's do it, they are great, when Sanchez does it, he's lucky, i hate that shit.

The Jets were supposed to be in cap hell for years in 2006 when Tanny took over... how did that work out?

My favorite were the Fin fans claiming the Jets backed into the playoffs this year too. 11 wins and nothing to play for in week 17 but its backing in.
