The best part was seeing the D make stops almost at will...I don't however agree with the article that our running game did the same. TJ still averaged less than 4 yards per carry and we weren't able to make any of the plays that a good running game should make like on 3rd and short and at the goal line...we still had to rely on the pass (and scramble (and trick play)) for too many of those. We did just enough on offense to win though. Kinda felt like the old Ravens.
While most were justificable, I posted prior to the game that the officiating would go that way, because the NFL has a vested interest in putting fannies in front of the TV on Turkey Day.
I must have missed the kneel down to make the kicker kick it further and the dumbass looks as he runs around the sideline asking people what to do now.
Conceivable, and I don't want to get into a debate about this, because I argued it enough back then, but that one yard should not make a significant difference... And for the record, it was a half-assed QB sneak, to center the ball, not a kneel down.... Shouldn't have gone backwards on it
I am not sure what you are saying is conceivable, but the facts about the plays are just that, facts. Making any kick longer makes it more difficult that is a fact as well. I don't disagree that professional kickers should be able to hit a very percentage from under 40-yards, but in game-winning situations you do whatever you can to make the kick easier, not harder. From my recollection, Chad clearly took a knee, while it may have been to center the ball, it wasn't even close to a QB sneak. There was no forward movement. Also, if you don't think that extra yard mattered... "I tried to hit it a little harder because I was real surprised I didn't have the distance," Brien said, referring to the 47-yarder. "The second one I missed. The first one didn't go in."
While its nice to note the 7 sacks, the coverage was downright excellent all game long. I'd say about four of the seven sacks were coverage sacks.
Not to mention that if Ben wasn't so surprisingly elusive in the pocket, the Jets would have had even more sacks based on the coverage.
