I'm really excited with the news coming out lately. It seems this could work and keep cases to zero or as close to zero as possible. Although now with this boycott going on, I'm not sure if it even matters
NBA players have way more superstar power than NFL players. A few might be more vocal about social injustice but it won't impact the NFL like it is the NBA right now.
I am sure this is true, but it makes me wonder how long this plays out and if guys start boycotting in the NFL. I agree, I do not think teams will boycott as a whole, but if enough guys do, it will really impact the league. There is so much fucked up shit going on in 2020. I would not be shocked if something like this happens LOL
Its easy for NBA players to be all high and mighty because they're in a bubble away from their family NOT GETTING PAID because it's the playoffs and they want an excuse to go home When they start losing real money is when the real world happens, and any NFL Player that stays home would at a minimum be forfeiting their paycheck unless the NFL owners are so dumb as to enable this sort of behavior and just keep paying them to play social justice warrior at their expense
It is already happening: Do not be shocked if this season is a fuckin mess and ends up getting canceled
If they cancel this season to be virtue signalling SJWs I'm going to take a vacation and cancel the next one But I don't think it's going to happen, no Football no money. There's too many players that need to feed their family
I'll tell you what. I don't agree with it. I think the lower tier players that were going to make a roster get royally bent over and fucked. However! What I do respect, is if they do strike, they are really putting their money where their mouth is (assuming the league and organizations don't try to strike an agreement to continue to pay them). I think it's a bit tone deaf with 40 million out of work but it'd take some big ol nut sacs to do it. Regardless of my disagreement on the reasonings and what not, I can respect that.
The real test is going to be what happens during the week as teams travel back and forth and after games. When a team is completely out of it by week 6, are those guys going to remain strict with the protocols? These first few weeks should be fine
53 man roster + practice squad + coaching/support staff travelling on planes, staying at hotels, potentially going out at night - there's going to be infection and sooner than later
I haven't been following baseball recently because the Mets suck ass, but weren't they the last team to have some sort of breakout which was 3 weeks ago? Yes, football requires way more people to follow the protocols, but baseball has been pretty good for 3 weeks. (I can be completely wrong and there could have been a breakout yesterday and I have no idea, so excuse me if I'm wrong)
Yeah, at the beginning there were players that were breaking isolation and going to clubs and they infected entire teams. Seems like many didn't take it seriously at first but then they got massively shamed into compliance. Discipline will decide what happens with the NFL teams
This mAkes zero sense to me. players and coaches both get tested out the ass. The players aren’t wearing them. Dumb rule
very dumb, 100% for show. Those are the kind of fines that should be for not wearing masks at the airport or for going out in public at night
