Vick lost his NFL job. Ppl who are saying Alosi should be fired aren't saying he should be banished from the league.
So acts of commission - such as leaning slightly forward vice leaning slightly back to allow position ones self so a player not paying attention and purposely running out of bounds in violation of the rules deserves firing? What about an act of omission - such as when a coach or player purposely moves out of the way (or not) to help a playing from falling or tripping on the sidelines...does that deserve firing? Look I am not saying that what Alosi did was right or that he shouldn't be punished. But what is being missed here is that NONE of this would have happened had Carroll followed the rules and simply stayed tried to get immediately back in bounds. He had already gotten flagged for it once and the rookie tried it again. The rule is in place to protect players and those on the sidelines and if the rookie doesn't know that, then he knows it now.
This is what I was mad about, if he didn't get tripped he was getting a 15 yard penalty once he came back in, if we fired Alosi it should be for costing us 15 yards in a close game
I have no opinion regarding what should or shouldn't happen to Mr. Alosi. All I'm saying is there is no parallel to Michael Vick here.
Just released: Alosi has been suspended without pay for the remainder of the regular season and the postseason. No firing, just a suspension. He dodged a huge bullet on this one IMO.
