the point is over the past 6 weeks our offense has been solid. the 1st 6 weeks it was brutally bad which is why the ranks overall are still bad. but a rookie QB, rookie WR, new offensive system, rookie LG who missed all of camp, GVR being awful, rookie RB it took some time for the unit to start to gel
if you take away WIlson's 4INT game, Idk we would because it counted, but even if you did, the offense is 31st in giveaways. Long way from average. trending upwards is accurate though
12TDs to 9 INTs in the past 6 weeks (which includes the mike white 4 INT game) 1st 6 games 5 TDs to 11 INTs (which includes the wilson 4 INT game)
Long way from average in the giveaways department. But I’m pretty sure our passing offense overall is right in the middle of the pack. Scoring we are maybe a bit below average. Again when you are used to complete dog shit and the most unimaginative offense in NFL history last year, mediocre feels like heaven.
I think the biggest improvements are the play of the OL and the playcalling by Mike LeFluer. I don't see Wilson's recent play as being the main reason for the upward trend. If MLF had started the year calling games like he has since he went to the booth and the OL played like they are now, Wilson would have had better numbers and the offense wouldn't have been so bad. We probably would have beaten the Panthers and the Falcons too.
And then there is M. Carter, an absolute jewel rookie RB, a hell of a good draft pick. Will see next season, but if Wilson takes the next step, the 2021 offensive draft picks including Vera Tucker might be one of our best ever.
JD basically drafted us an instant offense in 1 draft with wilson (assuming he reaches his potential) and carter/moore/AVT who are all already looking like studs.
