If I broke it down into specifics, the Jets drafts of the past 5 years still would beat out the Patriots ones. The Patriots have drafted more nobodies than have the Jets. The drafts of the past 5 years are the one area where the Jets have done better than the Patriots. And did it get the Jets anywhere? No.
They had numerous needs last year, they could not be expected to address all of them. They addressed the running back situation, inside linebacker and cornerback problems. That's a pretty good start. Their maneuvering in the draft has proven to be very astute. Hopefully, they'll do the same this year and obviously hiring Callahan is a great start in terms of fixing the offensive line problem.
