Way to focus on the negative and not take the whole game in perspective. Did I miss the point you made about the quality of the Defense we played against. They were phenomenally good. The biggest and most disturbing trend I see is the constant focus by the media and some fans to immediately dwell on the negative and point out the weaknesses of a very young team with three rookies in key positions and not address the strengths that gave us the win. Fuck it. It was a monster win. Unless of course you guys were expecting a perfect game for LOL.
this! This! This! I'm high as a f'in kite over the win and the first thing I see when I come here is bitchin and moaning. Damn.
I am so done with this fricking Wild Cat, it's nothing but a momentum stopper. It's never effective, yet the Jets have it in their permanent rotation.
Exactly, if we think the patriots are going to make the same mistakes that Tampa made we are mistaken. The jets scored 1 TD and needed a lot of mistakes from Tampa for us to even have a chance. Lets take off the green colored glasses and be realistic fans. Junc has been stating how this jets defense gives up big plays at the wrong time, and today was more of the same. Rex continues to show his spots as a DC, 3rd and long he will blitz and get burned. I thought Richardson was drafted to allow the 4 man front to get to the QB without blitzing? Glad they won but its more of the same.
Overall, you can say there were more positives than negatives. Good performance out of Hill, Winslow, the D on most plays, and the running game against a stingy Tampa Bay D that was #1 against the run last year. I was pleasantly surprised on how Gino handled himself under pressure and was able to get some big yardage by scrambling when he found the opportunity. Jets were very fortunate to win this game but, because of the way Gino played, the glass was more half full than half empty. One game...that's all it is.
+1000000, Bitching about the team after an exciting win.....are you really fans? Plenty of time until Thursday to review and pick apart the teams performance, if you can't just enjoy the fact that we just won in an exciting finish, maybe you need to rethink your so-called fandom...
The running game is easily my biggest concern going forward. Tampa Bay has a terrific run defense, but our run-blocking has been atrocious all summer. And, oh yeah, if I never see the Wildcat formation again, it will be too soon.
The two things that really got me is the fact this defense could not get the hell off the field on 3rd down and the run game was just awful... Yea the Bucs defense is good, but seriously... 44 yards on 22 carries from our two running backs in downright terrible.
Their run D was #1 last year, so I think we should reserve judgment on how good Ivory and Powell are. Ivory did finally have a solid 6 yard run, and he's clearly trying very hard (and not going down immediately like Greene would) so I think the running game will come along and get better soon. Plus, we'll have Goodson for Week 5, and he could be a potent weapon.
No it's called pissing and moaning. If you can't enjoy winning the opening game of the season, then why and how are you a Jets fan? Why do it if you can't enjoy it? I've been following this team since 1968 and have survived and even found things to enjoy in parts of this team's history that were far worse than the Rex Ryan era (The entire 1970's comes to mind) I can be as critical of the team as anyone, but I enjoy being a Jets fan, especially when we win. So maybe you could give your "Critical eye of truth"™ a rest until tomorrow, crack open a beer and celebrate a win.
You can't shit on the defense, they gave up 17 points all game and 7 of those points came on a fumble recovery at our goal line. By the way that play where Jackson nearly scored on us at the end got us a pick and QB Hurries earlier in the game. Sent from my HTCEVODesign4G using Tapatalk 2
The Wildcat should have been ditched the day Brad Smith packed his bags and moved to Buffalo. Seriously, has it ever worked since he left?
+1. Are there things that our team could improve on? Fuck yes. Does this win prove that we're a playoff team? No. Is this win good? Yes. Realistically, as in reality, as in right now, the New York Jets are 1-0. Undefeated. That is not something to complain about.
