The only thing that I will add about the QB's at this point, is I believe Rosen and Mayfield are the 2 that could handle the cauldron of chaos that playing QB in NY is...
We have no idea what real football people actually think about him and whether they're "high on him" or not. All we've heard is the media idiots, and most of those guys are talking heads, media tools who are just after clicks, or guys who played football but have no more skill or eye for talent than we do. We'll see how he does in Buffalo. There shouldn't be a lot of pressure there. He'll be out of the big city spotlight. He'll have some time to learn and develop. The reality is that he has NEVER produced at a high level at any level of football, and his teams have never been big winners. He is slow to read the field and process the information. He holds the ball too long and then tries to fire it in there. He is inaccurate. He uses touch on his passes inconsistently. He has a LOT to work on at playing QB. It will help some that he's played in an NFL-style offense, but not that much if he can't play the position of QB well consistently. I like you, guy, but I think you fell in love with his cannon arm and some of the incredible throws he has made, and like most people in love, go blind to the faults and flaws of the individual with whom they're in love. I think he's gonna be a big time bust.
Let's hope that we're both wrong (I agree), and that Darnold can do that as well. His personality is more like Bowles, so maybe they'll be a successful duo.
Buffalo lost their damn minds... think about this saga for Josh Allen. It all started last year when they could've had DeShaun Watson or Pat Mahomes at pick number 10. They didn't want either and traded out to KC. and yet this year they end up trading UP for Josh Allen. a lot too. they gave up their starting left tackle Cordy Glenn along with the Chiefs pick to move to 12 first, then they traded the 12th pick and 2 second round picks (one of which they got when they traded Sammy Watkins) just for Allen. --- so essentially, over the course of 2 years: -Cordy Glenn -Sammy Watkins -1st round pick -2nd round pick for Josh Allen and Allen at very best, is a similar prospect to Watson & Mahomes, who they coulda just had in the first place without giving up all that capital!
With the lack of teams interested in taking a QB in round one there is a good possibility Allen would have still been available in round 2 if the Bills had not traded up. What a terrible move by the Bills. They could have had Rosen but instead took Allen. Haha. Rosen might not be very likeable but at least he has the potential to be a good QB if not a special QB. The same cannot be said for Allen.
4 teams traded up in order to get their qbs in the first round and you think Allen would have fell to the 2nd due to lack of teams wanting qbs?
After the Cardinals traded up for Rosen the only team even remotely interested in a much better QB than Allen in Jackson was the ravens and they did not even see the need to reach at 25 for Jackson. So yes, it is quite possible Allen would have been there in round 2 if the Bills had not reached. Allen like Lamaar is a polarizing QB that only will work for a few teams. Jackson for the need to find a team willing to put in a system that suits his skills and Allen to find a team willing to take a QB that has not shown the skills to be able to play QB.
Phil Simms, Boomer Esiason, Mike Mayock, Rex Ryan, Bill Parcells, John Elway.........those are football people and the list goes on. If you think I like him, or all those guys like him, just for his arm strength you are simply incorrect. I don't like that he's in our division. Buffalo got two good players yesterday.
You have no idea how it plays out if buffalo doesn’t trade to 7. Your talking out your ass if you say you do. Facts are 4 qbs in the first ten with 3 teams trading. No evidence to believe any of them were falling out of the first round. Period
