I won't dispute that Trump and the corresponding opposition to him were the catalyst to the deep political divide in this country, but this division was an inevitability. Whether it happened with him or someone else down the line, it was coming in a big way.
Years and years of government scandals, pandering and identity politics but it’s all trumps fault . @NYJetsO12 is part of the problem
Shouldn’t be political. It’s obviously occuring. Also everyone should want to take care of the earth for their children and grandchildren to inherit.
The scary thing is that due to the need for consensus and peer review science tends to be very conservative in the views it puts forward. What's coming our way in the next century is likely to be far worse than the most pessimistic projections. The UN is the most conservative of viewpoints and every review they do of their work of 5 years past shows it. 2035 my ass.
land is becoming dry and infertile. In the US we have been pretty fortunate not to feel the affects of that as much as some areas, but this summer nearly 40% of the US was in extraordinary drought category. Not sure what the qualifications are to reach that term but the corn and soybean crop yields in the Midwest were horrible this year
Looks like they're not "horrible," showing both up and down in certain categories but not far off the marks or adjusted expectations. https://www.nass.usda.gov/Newsroom/2021/01-12-2021a.php https://www.agriculture.com/news/crops/usda-drops-us-corn-yields
no it was horrible. 2 things. 1. They didn’t meet “adjusted expectations” says it all. And 2. Farmers didn’t make any money because they were constantly having to water their crops through artificial means. That’s not sustainable both financially and environmentally
You're just straight up making shit up. https://www.world-grain.com/articles/15794-us-net-farm-income-surges-in-2021-ers-report-says
With so many unbelievers in science we have no chance of overcoming global warming. Even if we do, how will we compete with China, Japan, the Korea's, Europe? We are decadent; obese and drug addicted, we will fall to those disciplined people of the East.
Migration has been part of natural history for millions of years. Animals migrate because of environmental change. The issue here is that humans don't want to migrate like they've had to throughout their history. New Mexico used to be an ocean--its soil is sea bottom. Steinbeck wrote about the dustbowl in the 1930's or so. I moved from Southern New Mexico to Wisconsin in 2009 in part because I was concerned about water down there since Arizona probably will get dibs on whats available. People need to use their head and position themselves appropriately thru migration or face the consequences.
Even if the climate change we are going through now were completely natural, which it is not, i would be trying to stop it. In this climate we have humans living on all continents and prospering on all but anartica. With this climate, we are able to feed the entire planet and the winters limit the spread of disease. Why would you want those conditions? Short term profits is the answer.
I think you overestimate your power to affect macro environmental change on a planet wide basis but go for it. Darwinism works here to.
I dont overestimate humanities power. I don't underestimate it either. Maybe you should do some research.
