I want David Decastro. Brandon Moore is 30+ and declining and should be replaced sooner rather than later. I don't have any confidence in Sanchez and a immature WR2 playing WR1 getting it done on offense, so what's needed is the kind of push we had with Faneca, Mangold and Moore in his prime.

OLB and S are obvious needs, but we would probably have to reach to get a safety and drafting a pass rusher is an giant bust-gamble, unless you actually are the Giants. (Can we borrow their scouts to find a pass rusher?). Given that the O is in an even worse state than the D, I'd rather have a safe pick to help the offense.

First round OL aren't all that safe. There have been a number of high profile OL who have busted in recent years. OGs in general are not considered worthy of first round selection. It is a waste of a pick. You don't need an all Pro Bowl OL. If you use up your top picks on OL then your skill position players are slow and mediocre (like the Jets). First and second round picks should go on playmakers and upgrading team speed. Other than Revis, the Jets don't have a single playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. You don't find those in the middle or lower rounds except maybe a handful of times out of a hundred.

Not taking a first round pass rusher just because Gholston busted and you are "afraid" is silly and childish.

IMO if Tanny takes DeCastro at #16 he should be fired immediately following and someone else conduct the rest of the draft for the Jets.

Sure, there are no safe picks, but doesn't the thought of Mangold and DeCastro next to each other give you a /no homo-hard-on?

What about Mike Adams? Wayne Hunter is on our roster next year he can't start if we're making the playoffs. Adams is a massive guy that could mesh well with Sparano

Would slauson be able to switch to RT? Cause I'd sign for that if he could do a decent job

If T-rich slides to us and he's the pick at 16 how do u see the rest of the draft shaking out , considering out first pick really isn't that much of a team need

Personally if we somehow get trich I'd like to go all in with that and in the second grab a tackle or guard to rebuild the run game. And in the third I guess go with a pass rusher, this probably is unpopular with most on here but just wanted to see what you guys think.

That's asinine. I like Upshaw as much as anyone, but DeCastro would be my first place in a second if Upshaw has already been taken.

With Barron's injury do people really expect him to drop to the 2nd round, its a hernia (idk the extent of this injury but i doubt its too serious) he was mocked to go to us in the first by many experts. If so we have to jump on him or trade up in the second to get him. we need a saftey.

At this point I would not want us to draft Floyd, until i see his 40, I would much prefer the kid from Baylor may not have the same size but would be less like Plaxico (a possesion reciever) but could certainly stretch the field with his elite speed which is what we need to counter the "ground and pound"

I do, its a double hernia which can linger for quite a while.

Pretty much any team who drafts a safety in the 1st round damn well better be expecting him to be a legit starter year 1

Odds are this guy will miss almost all OTAs/Training Camps, and the injury could plague him the entire season if not longer.

Safeties are one of the cheapest core positions to begin with, stupid to waste a first rounder on a guy who might not be able to play full speed the entire season struggling to learn your defense on the fly when you can go out and sign a comparable FA one for 4-5 million a year

    1st) HB
    2) OLB
    3) Safety
    4) OLB/TE/WR/Safety
    5) ^

And probably OL gets put off till next season as a main need, unless we grab a late round one

Well then I think we have to get this guy in the second if he drops even if we have to trade up... the long term production and cheaper price for a stud starting safety, at that value, is too much to pass up even if he does miss some time, especially a team like us who are in dier need of a safety. And go offense in the first OL/WR. What do you think?

His real value before his injury came out shouldve been around the 2nd round- dumbass people who created mock drafts where he went to us at 16 just looked at our need and the best player at the position, they didnt consider any other needs and value. Barron with this injury in the 2nd round doesnt present a ton a value; it would be a decent pick, but it wouldnt present a ton of value. If he was there in the 3rd, then I would say he presents good value, but thats about it.

I think pre-injury Barron's film grades him out as a late first rounder. With no combine numbers or pro day he will drop due to the rise of other players but that doesn't mean he is still not a late first round talent presenting a quality option in the second especially to a team like the Jets with such a need at the position.

Out of those guys my order of preference is:

    DeCastro
    Glenn
    Floyd
    Martin
    Mercilus
    Upshaw
    Barron
    Burfict
    Jeffrey

But I'd kill someone if we select one of the last three in rd 1.
