The whole thing is just so bizarre. You have a hall of fame QB. You are a hall of fame coach. You've had a great season, and to get to the Bowl you are going up against an obviously inferior opponent. Why would you even CONSIDER pulling a second rate stunt like this? Is Belichek a psychopath? Because its hard to come up with any other rationalization.

Probably because they have been doing it all year for the last 14 years to get where they are at. After a while it just becomes second nature and they feel above the rules like they don't need to worry.

 

At times like these, I find it instructive to compare the great sportsmen of different eras.
