Tom Brady will probably retire in his early to mid 40s, so, about 2022. Bill Belichick is harder to predict. He definitely wouldn't retire before Brady, and would probably go for at least a few years after that. Maybe he'd retire around age 73, since the oldest-ever HCs were 72. It depends a lot on how the team is after Brady retires / if he starts declining. I could see him being obsessed and wanting to stay on forever, but I could also see him leaving a few years after Brady if he felt like he needed to spend more time with his family. I think that after he does retire as the HC, he would probably stay on as their GM. Then he would hire his handpicked successor to take over as the new HC.
like Cassell and Mallett before him? one preseason game does not mean he can take over for Brady. Maybe Garrapolo is good? he won't be top 5 all time great.
Mallett would be an interesting signing for the Jets this offseason. Big guy, big arm.. it remains to be seen how good he is but why not give him a shot to compete for the job.
All I said was that he will be a competitive opponent not the second coming of Brady lol. Few new qbs will attain that level for goodness sake. If geno smith can start in this league Garapollo certainly can and probably be 10x better than Smith. The fact that the Jets chose a Smith over picking him or went after Amaro is IMO a pathetic mistake. As I mentioned in other posts any decent GM would recognize that QB is way more important to solidify than TE. This sh--tstorm at QB was Idzik and Rex's doing.
Brady makes the Pats go so w/o him they may be able to get a competent QB but I will be much less worried about them than I am now. w/ Brady they are a lock for a div title every year.
