In my 36 years as a fan this sums it up fairly well. Although there are the years that you just know they are going to suck and you come to terms with it early.
Futility. I have been a die-hard Jets fan for over thirty years. I have been spoiled as a Yankees fan and would gladly trade a pinstripe world series for a chance to see our beloved Jets win it all. Now, that the Yanks are in a downward spiral I can only see this as a sign that the Jets will indeed make it to the Superbowl this year. Go Jets.
NEW YORK JETS FOOTBALL means a lot to me. It always has, and even though people have always hated this team, especially down here in South Florida, I will always be a fan of Gang Green. Our time is coming, we just have to believe. We have to end this culture of gloom and doom and incessant whining.
"New York Jets Football" means ..... well, if nothing else, it'll no longer mean screaming "Hunter, you fuckin' son of a bitch!..." at the TV 4 to 6 times a game.
it means fun sundays and endless analysis and discussion of what i love. disclaimer: i will not apologize for a non SOJF response
It means a long life of psychological abusive because I was born a few months after they won our one and only suberbowl. But I have faith that they will rise once again from the ashes like a Phoenix and shock the NFL world as world champions. And only then will I be able to die in peace.
New York Jets Football means to me "the glory days of Summer are over, and now Fall is kicking in with lots of stress". And their season could go either way, which means if they do good, it's all good and if they do terrible, I better start looking forward to next season of Yankees baseball.
its meant circus time for the last 5 years, complete fucking circus. i guess thats better than just end the season..... like it was for so so many years. i should really go find freeman mcneil and punch him for sucking me in and making me endure 30 years of misery.
