... holmes is fine as an average 1 ... ... kerley is fine as an average 3 slot wr ... ... hill unfortunately is struggling to hold onto the ball ... we rolled the dice expecting him to step up ... and he has not been able to ... ... we need our #2 wr to be the deepthreat/speed/stretch the field guy ... TO/Plax/Ocho are def NOT the answer ... l_j_r
Hill is and forever will be a guy with amazing physical skills but extremely questionable hands... the sooner everyone realizes this, the better.
its the most frustrating thing seeing a ball up for grabs and seeing Hill drop it or it hit him in the shoulder pads or helmet.
IMO after a break out week 1 performance Hill has been non existent, i think chaz can step up huge in that role good size and great speed, and he can actually catch the ball.
Part of the problem with the receivers is Sanchez. There were some obvious occasions when receivers worked to get open and Sanchez flat out missed them. I am all for trying to get receivers in there who will not drop the balls that are catchable, and that is part of the problem, too. But to deny that Sanchez is a big part of the problem is to deny reality.
IMO White should be signed off the practice squad. He may not be a world beater, but he has the ability to get open when lined up in the slot.
Hill is a rookie. He's clearly got talent but what did the Jets expect? 90% of good receivers aren't great out of the gate. Most need 3 years or so to become the receiver they expect them to be.
Is it his job to instruct Wr's or isn't it. If that isn't his job Mack, then what exactly IS his job? Our Wr's get shut down with the exact same style of coverage and no adjustments made because they aren't given any instruction HOW to break thru it. Our kid Wr's drops passes regularly but again, no improvement and apparently he only has Holmes as a mentor. Not the best way to put your Wr's in a position to succeed is it. The results are not good Mack. The Qb's coach hasn't really done a lot to improve Sanchez's game not that the GM was any help during the offseason. The Wr's coach really hasn't shown much that could be seen on the field although its only been 3 games. Poor route running, drops, etc..The weakest links on the weakest unit on the team falls under HIS direction Mack. How much of a pass do you think he should get?
Holmes has been good..would be even better with a better QB..I have actually been surprised. Schillens and Kerley might develop a bit too.
nope i agree. im also suprised that all the people who support hill dont like schillens. they are basically the same player
Right. Three games into his pro career, it's not like that's something he can improve or anything. He's ALWAYS gonna drop passes. REALIZE IT!
Schilens should get more of Hill's reps until he improves. Also, we should run more simple patterns for Hill to build confidence and let him run after the catch. WR screens, short hitches, and slants. We keep throwing him back shoulder throws and fades which are very difficult catches to make, keep it simple with Hill for the time being.
WHY do you people want Plax? He got no separation without pushing off last year and was an absolute malcontent in the locker room. No thank you.
Hill will have some amazing performances & then he'll have some bad ones. Just the reality of being a rookie WR. In terms of route running, he's way ahead of the curve. He just needs to learn alittle better awareness & needs to work on his hands. He's better served as a #3/#4(Depending on situation) at this stage. Let Chaz get some reps as the #2.
Hill is a rookie. The Jets should have worked him in more carefully. Kerley should be getting more snaps than he is.
I love how people use words like forever when the dude has only played 3 total games in the NFL. I guess that's a big enough sample size to throw his career in the garbage. Hell, lets cut all our rookies who haven't played great yet. That sounds like a great idea!
