So much for next years draft

    2/28/2009: Signed a five-year, $30.2 million contract. If Sheppard participates in at least 39% of the plays in year one, his salary escalates by $1.55 million per season for 2010 through 2013. 2009: $3 million, 2010: Under Contract, (+ $10 million option bonus), 2011-2013: Under Contract, 2014: Free Agent


    Here is sheppards contract that is on rotoworld. If I am reading this right the option kicks in at the start of next year? So Lito is a one year player for us.

    Yes it was always a one year deal for Sheppard. No way he's getting a $10 million bonus with all of the other players that will be looking for contracts that are younger and more durable.
