Yeah ...totally agree....I guess I'm assuming BPA won't be the one position they don't need

Almost as depressing as the fact that any sane person could have seen this coming.

As a long time Jets fan, you know that our life. Hopefully, that will change one of these days, but I'm not holding my breath.

Not sure if we ever had the luxury to do this. As much as I like Leonard Williams, - I probably would have preferred to trade out of that spot (in retrospect) and acquired more draft picks, --- as I'm not sure the Wilkerson - McClendon - Williams - Richardson "all on the field at the same time" experiment is working.

We would have probably been ok without the revis/skrine/williams disaster but that's what happens when you hire gms with no experience.

I'm glad we took Williams as he looks to be the best of our group ... as for Mo hope he returns back to form and shows us that he was worth the big money ... I think Sheldon gets traded in the off-season ...

In the open market he won't even command $10mm which is what Patrick Peterson makes. If he can turn his season around he's probably worth 6-7mm per. The problem is he's due to make $16mm next season and the dead money is $8mm ($2mm roster bonus and $6mm guaranteed).
It's tough to re-structure a player making that much that is quickly aging before our eyes because he'll likely be shot after next year regardless. At this point they need to consider cutting him once they put a plan in place for his replacement.

The free agent class at CB isn't that good.. Trumaine, Johnson, Stephen Gilmore are currently the top of that list in terms of 2016 cap hit and it goes down considerably after those two.

Nothing worse then being a middle of the road team.

8-8 is almost always worse then 3-13 to me unless you are a young team that went from 3-13 to 8-8

It's also not bad enough to get anyone fired so you have at least one more bad year to look forward to.

When one is hiring a new GM, one almost always has to hire someone with no experience. I don't think there's ever been a GM who failed and was fired with one NFL team, who went on to be successful with another. In fact, I can't think of many who were fired, who even got jobs with other teams. Jerry DeAngelo was the GM of the Bears from 2001 - 2011 then was fired. I think Angelo has interviewed with another team or two, and I thought he had gotten a job with another team, but hasn't.

Teams almost always wind up hiring a GM assistant with another team. The typical GM has a background in scouting and personnel, as does Mac. Clueless Woody hired Tannenbaum and Idzik to be GMs even though Tannenbaum was an accountant and lawyer who had handled the cap for the Jets, and he had absolutely zero experience or knowledge in scouting and personnel. Idzik only had a modicum of experience in scouting and personnel. Most of his time with Seattle he was an administrator and handled the cap.

Yeah Ive been thinking the same thing. Bowles seems very adamant about having them on the field at the same time. It's just not working. Richardson was suspended the first game and they got 7 sacks. I don't know if there fuckin with the scheme to get them on the field together but whatever it is they need to do something different.

This happens when you blindly go with BPA as a draft philosphy. You could wind up with two guys that play the same position which means one of them has to move thereby limiting his talent. Williams will be a great player, but does anyone on this board really think a BPALB wouldn't have been an better option? How about a BPADB to take over from Revis.. How about this for radical thoughts:-. BPAOL, BPARB...

    Anyone up for BPA Offense?

We've scored 33 points in the last three games. Aside from Seattle thats inexcusable.

Chiefs - One week after giving up 3 to us gave up 43.
Steelers - gave up 34 two weeks before holding us to 13.

Pathetic defense typically leads to shootouts but not with us.

No doubt Williams is a beast. I think he will be the best out of the 3. But like you said we had many more glaring needs. DL was the last thing we needed. I was on the OL bandwagon because mangold is nearing the end Clady is also older. Also everyone on the right side aren't world beaters.

BPA is a great philosophy if you have a stacked team or at least a team with no glaring holes. Its just sad the Jets haven't picked offense 1st round since Sanchez and the defense is in absolute shambles

I liked him too and his teams played hard every week... supposedly he lost it over the field and was drunk on the plane.... do not recall the rest.
