Had is the operative word. For some strange reason, the Jets cut bait with all of them except for Lucky Whitehead and Andre Roberts. I guess they needed the space as they can only have so many players in camp, but what's the point of signing all those guys and then cutting 80% of them before you even get to see them on the field? One of them was Brisly Estimé who I think led the NCAA in punt returns year before last. The Jets signed him as a UDFA, but he was injured and spent the year on IR.
They reported from Jets camp yesterday that Teddy is healthy and throwing. If we didn't go all in on Darnold and spent some more of our free agent cash McNown or Bridgewater would have the the talent to make a playoff run.
You don't draft for need, you draft for talent. Herndon could very well be a good player for us. He's not a quick twitch guy, but good up the seams and a willing blocker. If he develops quickly he could be starting soon rather than later. That said, you may be one of the few that thinks Leggett/Walford/Tomlinson is a solid group entering the season. Leggett is an unknown and they other are jsut bodies at the position with nothing great about them.
