Randy Moss wouldn't make our O-line consistent, and certainly wouldn't make a D-line respectable. I can't imagine he would have been covering a kickoff either. Would the score have been different? Yea sure, but if not Moss I'm sure Brady would have been finding someone else with all the time he had. It just might not have looked as pretty. We'll never know though.
I can only roll my eyes at certain remarks made here how the WR position does not need help or that RM would not benefit our woeful ground game or even that our O-line is a mess. The fact is that a receiver the caliber of RM has a profound impact on virtually every aspect of the offensive game. The running game would have benefited (HUGELY) as opposing defenses could no longer afford to stack the box lest they risk getting burned by any one of our WRs in single coverage. Additionally, if defenses chose to offset those concerns with continuous dime packages, it still wouldn't shut down the passing game and the running attack would still benefit for obvious reasons. RM would also have made LC and JC that much more of an offensive threat. With double teams and or safety help rotating toward Moss instead of LC, Coles would probably have had one of his best years and JC would also be that much better. Furthermore, LC and JC would have found it much easier to more quickly find seams and get open on short and intermediate routes which would have mitigated our current O-line shortcomings considerably. Chad is more than capable of getting rid of the ball quickly when he's got AN OPEN receiver. With Moss, Coles and Cotch, I find it difficult, if not impossible, to believe that any defense could lock down the passing game....even WITH our somewhat lame O-line.
At CP's current stage in his career, your probably right, but check out the numbers those two put up at Marshall some time. At one point CP may not have had a canon but he could make most NFL throws, but 2x shoulder surgeries...
I don't think we would've had time to get Moss on the Deep routes andIt's not like he would only be used on go routes. but look @ it this way. Take McCareins out on those plays and insert Moss... Exactly. Hells yeah Moss makes a difference. If he gets doubled that leaves Lav or Cotch 1 on 1...are you kidding me?Also would've opened up the running game that much more. That said, I think we are fine @ WR, it's the other issues that are killing us right now.

Moss takes a lot of shorter passes, so i don't know why everybody thinks he can only go deep. And you guys really think more offense wouldn't have helped in that game? Chad started the game failing on what, 4 of 6 drives? You saw the intense soul crushing pressure the Pats put onto the Chargers last week by just scoring on every drive at the beginning of the game. That makes a difference, it really does. That being said, yes, Moss by himself isn't a team. I agree. However I disagree in people claiming he wouldn't have a positive impact.
Don, I understand that if the Jets pressed hard enough and spent enough money, they could have gotten Moss. However, Moss wanted it easy, wanted a ready-made Super Bowl ring, and saw the Pats as his best chance to do that even though he really wanted to play with Favre. You have to understand that, or nobody is going to take this whining seriously.

The additonal of Randy moss would have changed some aspects of a defensive game plan against the Jets but if you pull up old Marshall video's with Chad throwing to randy long There all rainbow's ; with this o-line at this moment Chad barely has time to set up let alone allow for a reciever to run down feild to get a long pass.
