This is the 1st time in many years that the JETS FO finally did something right. When was the last time we actually Kept one of our young stars? Actually giving him money they deserved? I really can't remember...... All I can say is, It's about Fukin time.
I feel you.... I made a post about this in the bunker.... Resign -> to voluntarily leave a job or position Re-sign -> to sign (a document) again In the football world, these terms are practically OPPOSITES! When will people learn? It's probably the most common, and most misleading offseason mistake on this website...
This is very excellent news on many levels, it shows the veteran Jets that they will be taken care of and keeps moral high in the club house. One would have to think that Baker will be next in line to the bank if the Jets intend on keeping him for any length of time. I do wonder about his long term prospects with the Jets though, after making the comment to the press about the Jets spending spree on F/A's and not taking care of the home front first. I love the fact that Tanny and Mangini are trying to keep this core group of young players together moving forward. With a few more moves and ridding the salary cap of excess contracts like D-Rob's we should have more available cap room to take care of a few others. One thing for certain it will be nice to go into camp with personal peace and everyone on the same page with no distractions other then building this new team and wining football games.....
Now what are you going to say negative about this organization. MANGINI WILL GIVE US MULTIPLE CHAMPIONSHIPS. They are smart and building. Nice mix of vets and young players. I said it last year.
I know I'm late to the Tangini circle jerk, but remember these guys put us through hell and shit with...4-12. Theres few HOF coaches with bad seasons on their record, and spending alot of money may not lead to WINS.
...yep! Right on cue. The nay-sayers. They're never late for the party. They're always there to reminds us how quickly a good thing can become shit. Reading this entire thread was like watching the best porn made in the last decade...and it took 1 post to record over it with clips of abortion proceedures. I'm going to bed. Oh yeah...and I guess I'm also happy about the signing news.
Dude, DWare lays his sarcasm on really thickly. He's usually one of the first to defend Tangini against the naysayers.
They have said many times that they have learned from their mistakes of last year... a signing like this and Coles proves they've learned.... we shouldn't see another 4-5 win season from these guys ever again, barring massive injuries of course.
Oh good lord you guys...did you actually think I meant resign like quit? Hahaha...that is pretty funny. No...he has re-signed with the Jets. Good thing too...he will be one of the Jets all time best in the secondary.
