He never said he was going to be Peyton Manning....he just said even great ones like Peyton had rough rookie campaigns, which is true. Jets do have a better team than that Colts team though which is why we'll probably win more games than that team. He played good vs Tampa Bay....he had turnovers but vs a team that took away our running game(Bucs can do that) and had a on paper great secondary, he did very nicely and brought the team back from a deficit, even with a little help and all. We won that game by passing, we did jack on the ground. Add the Jets OLine got their asses kicked and I thought this was Geno's most impressive game of the 3 IMO. He had a lousy game in NE but Gates/Hill/Spadola did him no favor. No Kerley, Holmes on a snap count on a short week means Geno is limited to with what he's working with. Doesn't excuse the turnovers granted but the Pats D does that. Luck had what? 3 or 4 INTs up in Foxboro last year. Pats D has played pretty well this year and has been a vocal reason why they're undefeated. Not a good game by Geno by all accounts though but its not all on him. He did very well vs Buffalo. Had mistakes but he took advantage of an awful secondary and you can't fault him for that. You take what's given to you, Buffalo wants to throw Rogers on Holmes/Hill, they should get punished for it.
Oh shit, that walking, gawking thermometer Glennon just threw a TD pass. : ( I want TB to lose every game and add greater/higher value to that additional pick 3rd round pick we got for Revis.
Well for the most part the stats weren't that different, but the huge sacks and the behind the back butt fumble for a TD makes Glennon the winner this week. The guy with the most reps and playing time looked more like the rawest rookie.
"Geno Smith had the second-best road passer rating in NFL history on Monday night. After five games, he’s also fourth-best among rookies in history (post-1960) in yards per pass attempt. And his 80.3 overall rating is the fifth-best rookie passer rating through Week 5 among active quarterbacks." http://sports.yahoo.com/news/splitsville--the-geno-project-175303606.html
Glenon is not even in the competition. Geno is in a league of his own right now. As for ej manuel, well, the Bills might have a bust in their hand. How does a franchise forgo picking the fastest and most accurate QB in the draft for a guy who made his mark during interviews is beyond me.
EJ was actually nominated for first quarter rookie of the year by NFL network,if that even means anything.Don't see any chance of him getting that this year especially with the injury now.Geno could be if he keeps having performances like Monday night, although I know there will be many more bumps in the road this year.
This proves that JetsFan is being an impatient jerk off. I hate when people declare players as a bust when they have not played a full season.
