And, for the record, I'm pretty sure that Jon Miller taught half of the CBS football crew how to pronounce Mark Sanchez's name.
Berkman hot all of a sudden, and it's coming against Beckett, who historically had owned him. 3/3 Yankees up 4-1
Once again, Beckett responds to a homerun by plunking a batter. What a douche. If the Yankees manage to break this one open, I wanna see some retaliation.
Who knows what the hell Cash was thinking on that play. It looked like Beckett said something to him as he was leaving, too. On the plus side, I think that we're finally finished with the perception that Beckett is some kind of "Yankee killer" because of the 2003 WS.
this. this might be one of the most annoying things in the world to me. literally every time they say it, i notice it and it irks me worse with every call. pisses me the fuck off. i feel like the guy has to go out of his way to say it like that, isnt sanchez a pretty fucking common name?
I would certainly hope so, considering that his career ERA against them is 5.95, not counting tonight's game. He's a chump.
I didn't agree with the bullpen logic. Moseley had been pitching well, and Girardi pulls him at 87 pitches for... Joba Chamberlain. I don't really get that. Then with 2 outs and a 5 run lead in the 9th, he brings in Mo. Yeah, Beckett is not considered a Yankee killer. With the Red Sox, he hasn't pitched well against them. He had two good starts against them seven years ago with the Marlins. That hardly makes someone a Yankee killer.
Yes I really dont understand that move at all, Moseley had already shown he could have gotten out of trouble. He should have left him in there. Also bringing Joba in with base runners is a bad idea
I'm not sure if Moseley was stretched out enough to throw 100 pitches--keep in mind, he hasn't been in the rotation for long, and he didn't even know he was starting until shortly before the game. Bringing in Joba was a fine move (though I personally would've gone with Robertson, who is better with runners on.) As for Mo, that was a total head scratcher. At least he only threw 1 pitch, so no harm was done.
