Well . He did have a good point, because there are season ticket holders in Connecticut. The thing is you have to first believe Cross' 50% number. We all know he is a used car salesman and will say thing anything he has to say. The thing about Champ is that if you remember how adamant he was about the 70% number...and now I give him a chance to say he was wrong because the Jets themselves said 50% and he just can't bring himself to do it. After all. 50% is really pretty much 70% as he put it............it's that new math....and just to show I'm not a hardass, should 2010 be the year they contend most of the team not including this years class probably will turn over. I won't say every single guy but most of them. Vilma may be around. Maybe..ummmmm..Strait. lol See, sometimes I'm wrong. I admit that. You should try it Champ.
Of course most of the roster will turn over.... when: And he acts like he's teaching us some great wisdom. That's Swami69 for you...
Too funny . First thing that popped in my head when I heard about Suggs. Was oh here it comes now its the end ....The Sky is falling.. Guess Iwasnt the only one....Well the sky has fallen many times on us and we are still here BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
What does where season tix holders come from have anything to do with who is now on the 06 roster & will not be on the 2010 roster? Season tix holders do not win SBs quality players do
Nobody on the 2010 roster will be on the 2018 roster. Quote me on that in 2018 and we'll see who has the knowledge.
Look I am just telling you what I see. If you do not like what I see see something else. When 07 comes around & we still stink you can then delude yourself 08 will be the year. When 08 cimes around with little improvement you can then delude yourself 09 will be the year. When 09 comes around & we have improved a bit but still do not make the SB you can begin to think of the POs in 2010 if all things go well & if there are no train wrecks along the way. If we have a few train wrecks along the way then it will fall backwards to 2011 or later. Better get used to some years of garbage FB in fact it reminds me a whole lot of the NYJs in the 70s.
When U deal with SLWs it is easy to turn the other cheek cause you know how little they really know about FB.
Hey Swami, I was thinking of stopping by the store and picking up some lotto tickets this week. Can you PM me those winning numbers? Or maybe send along some winner for me at the track. Thanks pal!
Hmm, you seem to be confusing champ's analysis based on knowledge and true information with some kind of cosmic foresight. Anyone could have seen the signs he saw and foreseen the lack of success coming under Herm if they hadn't been blinded by misinformation.
Back to the sky is failing. Is any one starting to regret the fact that we took two OL men and a very short but talented QB with our first 3 picks and our starting QB is going to be Chad Pennington and our starting RB will be Cedric Houston or Blaylock?
Well a poster with some reality. I wish you could impart your wisdom to the many on this board that need it IMHO
2 bookends instead of game changing players. Same thinking as way back when when it was Cadigan/Powell/Ward instead of game changing players. Yessiree who says that history does not repeat iitself?
The hardest thing for me is that I'm not sufficiently jaded to stop hoping that every move pays off. So, no, I'm not ready yet to condemn the draft choices or process. We need a RB now though to take the pressure off other areas of the team, no matter how short term a solution it is for that position in itself.
I'm going into the season, hoping the team wins five to six games and is competitive. I have no allusion that the 2006 Jets will be in the playoffs. I'm really trying to give the Mangini-Tannenbaum regime a chance, but to be honest,I'm a Herm guy (Bradway I couldn't care less about) and if this fails,it just validated my thinking that Woody Johnson has no business running this team.
Well if I liked U some years back & U were on the board at that time & had given me some respect I would have given U a penny stock that went to over $6.00. Do a historical on a HLSH from 01/03 till now & U will see it went from very small pennies to large dollars. I call it hitting mini lotto since when it was very small pennies I bought many, many, many thousands of shares. In case you cannot do the math if you bought 50,000 shares U invested like 5Gs then you sold it say for $5.00 per share your net would have been 250Gs not bad huh? Now going further if U bought 100,000 shares your investment was 10Gs & your return @ $5.00 per share is a sweet 500Gs. How about that for hitting lotto?
Not really thats how you build a team look at Denver. I would rush for 1,000 yard behing there O-line and in a year or two I think that will be how the Jets are. You don't need great QB's or RB's if your O-Line is great. You give anyone in the NFL enough time and a hole to run in and they will succeed.
Seeing how only 1 team a year get the trophy,i watch and enjoy football for more than just a championship. I realize the probability of getting there, even if we were expected to be good this year is not good. But you still didn't answer the question. You down the team you supposedly root for to no end. So there must be a laundry list of things that you would have done differently since the day Herm left. You were unhappy with the Herm Edwards era. So here you go,a new regime. lets hear what you would have done differently (trades,Coaching, draft etc) since you are beating them down beofre they play one down.
I am NOT beating down the "new" regime I am beating down the QUALITY of players we have. If you take that to mean that is a slap at ManTan then it was up to them to bring in higher quality players then what now exist on the team. Why do you find that idea so hard to understand?
Denver is a good example of a team in need of a QB. They haven't done crap since TD went down and Elway retired.
