ESPN paid way too much for sports programming (competing vs themselves and overpaying) and their only way to slash costs is too let go of these high priced employees.

ESPN is betting that the no matter who they put on the air, people will watch.

It's a joke...it feels like I'm watching Fox news talking about the Pats all day.

I would take it one step further...ESPN is exponentially hiring attractive young women. There is virtually no new young male talent on air.

Soon enough ESPN will be the TMZ of televised sports coverage where gossip stories (like Manziel's off field escapades) will be more prevalent and sports analysis and breakdown will be rare.

ESPN, with sports, will be like MTV in that MTV got completely away from music videos for variety programming.

Cowherd became the absolute worst. somehow I liked this idiot bayless more by the end of cowherd's tenure at ESPN.

Cowherd started out alright. When he opened for Jim Rome at the 10AM-1PM slot on ESPN radio I would listen to him and turn it off before Rome. I used to hate Jim Rome for his ass kissing to guests and pompous attitude everywhere else. But when Rome left for CBS Radio and they gave CowTurd his lunch time slot. Holy fuck it was impossible to listen to.

Cowherd turned into fucking Dear Abby or something. No more sports talk just this stupid hack lecturing us on life by making bold claims loosely derived from his feelings on a sporting event. His also took on the perceived self importance from where Rome left off. The last thing I want to listen to is some fucking clown sports journalist giving me life lessons with an ego. Fuck him. I did the unthinkable and started listening to Rome on CBS radio opposite his slot. At least Rome was talking sports and had some entertainment. Fuck CowTurd.

Now you know why i started listening to the philly sports radio talk. Although they whine about the Eagles all day, if i call, I always get on air and theyre entertaining and funny. Hell ive won some prizes in the process.

Colin was dear abby, you hit that shit right on the head. Worst part was, his advice was racist, sexist, and homophic. I mean dont gove advice of youre an asshole. He had next to no real knowledge about sport and got espn in mlre trouble than he was worth and thats why they werent willing to match his offer.

Their pay is much cheaper AND once they start squabbling about an increased pay check around contract talks, ESPN can dump them and hire another young woman to replace them...

    Great strategy.

I can't do Rome. He's just such a complete douchebag and when his idiotic clones call in, I want to stick darning needles in my ears.

It is a great strategy! Before I got fat and bald I used the same strategy myself. Once bitches got too expensive and whiny I dumped them for a younger broad. It's a great strategy I would recommend to anymore it just doesn't work anymore for me :(

Cowherd was the absolute worst...I was so glad he went off into obscurity.

He was barely watchable in that show with Michelle Beadle but he is Stephen A type of bad

I remember always tuning out Bayless for years. Then my freshman year roommate in college entered my life, and he watched First Take every day, so I was actually forced to hear what he was saying.

I remember getting angry about his outlandish opinions, thinking no one could be this ridiculous. Once I realized it was all an act, within a month of watching the show, I never paid attention to a word he said again. That show is the sports talk equivalent of WWE.

And Stephen A. Smith is probably the most repulsive media personality not on Fox News. He came to my university (Temple) as a guest speaker in 2013 and all he did was gloat about how much success he'd had, how the ESPN producers said he has the best audition tape they'd ever seen. And you can't forget him defending Ray Rice saying that some women provoke men to beat them.

Fuck ESPN. Except for Around the Horn and PTI. Those shows are still great.
