TheJetsStream Manish Mehta Jets claimed former Cowboys DB Andrew Sendejo, according to @nickeatman #nyj I guess we weren't as loaded in the backfield as Rex said yesterday.
...and you can bet your asses that Andrew Sendejo will be gone after this week. He was brought in because he's a former Dallas Cowboy. We clearly don't need defensive backs. The staff will pick this guy's brain and send him packing.
JennyVrentas Jenny Vrentas Report: DB Andrew Sendejo claimed by #NYJ MT @nickeatman 3 released cowboys claimed : c. gronkowski (ind), sendejo (jets), j. Thomas (car) got a cowboy to interrogate. good job by tanny.
I could see Sendejo sticking around. Big time hitter, plays fast, could be used on specials. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zT22i8_9m_U
That's just not true. We don't have anyone on the books next season who is likely to retire, and we don't have any sizable contracts that can come off the books via cuts now that Scott and Pace have had their 2012 salaries guaranteed.
Who knows... that said we have one hell of a scouting dept so let's trust them on these moves. PS I think Rex knows how his brother plays D inside-out... no need to bring in a "spy"...
Our cap situation was terrible for next year a few weeks. Now it will be more than manageable. There wasn't anything worth screwing the team next year for anyway.
I agree that there were no free agents screaming for us to sign but I thought they might make a trade. I can't think of any other year in recent history when we didn't spend what we had especially when everybody is promising a superbowl. We had 17 FAs this year and the only one we didn't bring back that we may have wanted to bring back was Smith and that was only because we spent too much time waiting on scrabble. We could have easily brought him back too. I can't imagine anything next year that will be worse than what we faced this year.
I'm sure Tanny took a solid look at just about every opportunity to pick up some talent. Sometimes the trades just aren't there, at least ones that fir our situation. I'm not too disappointed wth our offseason personally
