Edwards is the closest and most formidable replacement to Keyshawn Johnson yet. Just haven't seen him run the fade as frequently.

Also, If these guys want to win a championship(s) both Edwards and Holmes should find a way to stay with the Jets.

I think Edwards is a better football player. Doesn't take plays off, doesn't make dumb mental mistakes. He had one drop all season. I think he's been huge in Sanchez development. His run blocking this season been on par this year with Hines Ward.

Santonio is an inconsistent weapon. He will make the big play and then drop an easy pass. His two fumbles (Chicago, Denver) were awful. The drops were bad but he also made plays that won games. I've seen Santonio not go all out on blocks and like we saw tonight with the punt return, just a total mystery what the fuck he was thinking.

They are both really really good football players but for this team Braylon is a better fit.

So you're going to argue Edwards doesn't have big play ability now? If we lose either one, we'll need to draft a receiver. I'd love to avoid that, but if we do, give me the complete package and draft a quick, sub 6' receiver who can run slants all day long.

I'd love to keep both....they both bring unique skillsets to the table (Braylon has the size, the blocking and some decent hands. Holmes is fast, runs a wicked slant, and can return punts if called upon).

we should find a way to get them both back. If not though, I think it has to be Edwards staying now. And that's a complete flip from the middle of the season when I was 100% for Holmes...As IJR says, Edwards does a whole lot more than just catch balls for us, he contributes to the running game in a way that Santonio just doesn't right now.

But again, Tanny should find a way to get both back

What you are missing is, Braylon is a very good run blocker with the big-play capability and consistent hands. Receivers like these just don't grow on trees. I just don't know how or why he has transformed into what he is now, but he is not the immature, malcontent WR that he was in Cleveland. Once Mark learns how to use the playaction fake, look out. Braylon will make more than enough share of big plays for this team. He will make his share of clutch plays (like he has done already.)

Both have big play ability, I just believe that Holmes runs crisper routes and is clutch when the game is on the line. Braylon is a more complete wide out but given some of his heroics I would rather have Holmes and a decent run blocking reciever. If we lose either we will be drafting a reciever after drafting a linebacker or saftey. Unless we secure both of those positions in f.a.

For the record Braylon has one drop this year in 17 games.

Great point. I'm not missing that at all. I think that if we lost Braylon and replaced him with a good run blocking reciever with decent hands we would be better off than losing Holmes.

Without Holmes our run blocking wideout with play action capabilities runs into double coverage issues. Ideally we kep both and defenses remain stretched out for us and Sanchez can start making the throws he should be at this stage to continuer to open up the running game.

I'm just saying if we have to lose one then it should be Braylon. I don't want to lose either as I think they compliment each other in so many ways. It's a nice problem to have isn't it?

I think Braylon is the overall better player and receiver. He has the size, the hands, and the speed to do pretty much whatever he wants. I think once Sanchez improves with his talent he could be a top 5 receiver in this league. Santonio is quick and complements Braylon very well, but I think he would be a lot easier to replace than Braylon.

Braylon has been great for us. Santonio has been great for us. I really don't know which one to hope that we sign.

    Who are we playing next?

    New England delenda est!!!!!

if I had the choice I would let Cro go and sign both of them. Cro is good but he's replaceable. He's no Revis(who is? aso maybe). I don't put him on the 2nd tier either. I think he's probably a notch below that. not just because of tonight.

We also have a guy named Kyle Wilson who he drafted in the 1st round. I know he was bad this year but he was also asked to play as the nickel CB. i think he'd thrive much better playing outside.

Honestly..I think Wilson will have his shit together and will prove to be just as a good as Cromartie. No evidence..just a feeling and faith.

He just needs to learn how to get right up to line of scrimmage and hold onto the receiver all the way down the field and he'll be Cromartie jumior!

I prefer Braylon, he fits our style better.
