Allen completely reworked his throwing motion last offseason, hence his remarkable improvement in accuracy. He reworked his motion with Jordan Palmer, the same QB coach Sam works with every offseason.
This tells me Lawrance will bust. If that's the case, why did I leave Buffalo Wild Wings in fury after our first win against the fucking Rams! I almost got a ticket. Dang it. JV. You know I love you brother. If we pick Wilson, will he at least be Matt Ryan good and carry us into a Superbowl?
Exactly, and this is important. If JD and his staff thought there were 3 or 4 quality QB prospects, then he could keep Sam in his back pocket while he traded down 'some', and still get one of the 3-4 prospects. If his trade down blew up in his face, he could go with Sam and draft Kyle Pitts. Not a bad blan B. But as soon as he determined it was ZW and no one else, he abandoned that thought, locked in on Z, and traded Sam.
You might be right. But I interpreted the two in mind were under the assumption TL was gone, so I assumed Wilson and Fields. He did make reference to Lance by name, and no one else btw.
He is clearly talking about top two guys overall. "And we just don’t feel comfortable, in case something happens with one of the top two guys, we don’t want to get caught in a bad situation, like one of two guys fails a physical and then we don’t have Sam." If he was talking about top two possible choices, he wouldn't have said they would be screwed if one of them fails physical.
Near the end of the article the writer said that Douglas said there is a top 2 and the writer believes one of the two is Lawrence.
I’m not sure I agree with that premise in total. Most rookie QBs can’t overcome bad coaching.Gase did nothing to change his schemes to accommodate Sams strengths, or anyone else,, including a more effective running game to the outside.
yeah it’s interesting...there are only 32 teams in the NFL, and with the hundreds of thousands of kids who play football, there aren’t even 32 great QBs in the world....crazy to think about it in those terms
Sam was never a rookie under Gase. He actually showed some flashes as a rookie. The flashes got less and less each subsequent years.
I still have not gotten over that win and have not forgiven Mann for that game saving tackle. Hopefully, Wilson will make us happy that we beat the Rams. But, for me it's going to take a few years and a lot of TD passes by Wilson to get over that game. Oh and one last time FU Adam Gase.
I think JD was worried the QB crop may not be as advertised early on, and decided to keep Sam around just incase. For example, if Zack's shoulder surgery still hindered him. But JD seeing ZW up close in in person eased those fears. But until that moment, Sam wasn't going anywhere. That's what I though he meant.
2nd half of the season after Gase and Sam had their sit down to clear the are was pretty good. We had a long streak of opening drive TDs, Sam had the best QBR in the league, and we went 6-2 to finish off the season. All with the worse oline and the most starters on IR. It as least gave us hope for 2020.
That stretch felt like false hope to me kind of like how Geno Smith finished his rookie season. Sometimes numbers can be deceiving.
