I completely agree and I think your outlook is a very rational one

I'm totally pissed about how the D & special teams played (that was at least the 3rd fake punt for a 1st down) and the O didn't do anything in the 2nd half but with that being said I'm very very happy that the JETS won. 2 more to go and thanks Carolina for giving us the chance at the 3 seed.

    You prefer another 4-12 season?

And by the way, it's "eke" out a close victory. Not "eek."

You're right, the Jets are AWESOME! It takes a lot of talent to make a win feel like a loss!

    My sentiments exactly....

If this makes me a darksider..so be it.

I said this earlier in the week, and I'll say it again. There is NO way this team as it is constituted now will go to a Pittsburgh or Baltimore and win a playoff game. I just don't think this team mentally tough enough. If it got into back alley fight with either one of those team, they would get their asses kicked.

I can't imagine any other fan base having this attitude.

The Giants were 9-5 heading into week 15. They got beat down by the Redskins AT home in week 14. And they went on to get road wins in Tampa, in Dallas, in GB and beat a 16-0 team in the Super Bowl.

You get hot, you never know.

Why wouldn't you be pumped up that you might have a chance at that run. Would you rather be 4-12?

Again, we've played like absolute garbage three weeks in a row against three mediocre teams.

It's not a one week slip up. It's who we are as a team

Because we're waiting to see the Jets show some signs that they could have a run like that, but they haven't shown them in the last 3 weeks. We need something to be pumped up about. The fact that it's POSSIBLE we could go on a run like that isn't enough. We have to see something on the field. Sure, there is that glimmer of hope we could have a Giants run based on our record, but again, we need to see something on the field before we share your enthusiasm.

i thought the jets team in 2004 had a better chance than us of going on such a run because at least they had a consistently solid defense. (thank you, donnie henderson). Doug Brien dashed those dreams.

Very true. Although this team has a MUCH better offense , lead by a quarterback who actually has the physical ability to throw the ball in obvious passing situations, at critical points, against playoff caliber defenses.

I wrote on a couple darkside threads about no one caring about the negativity and to just enjoy the W... and I got a good amount of very hard replies about how I know nothing about football and they are all "critical" watchers of the game unlike me. Guess I was asking for it I suppose...

Pretty unruly group if you ask me, we are all Jet fans after all.

    Thank you.

A Steelers friend of mine who I was watching the game with today asked me why there seemly no atmosphere in the stadium today.

I forwarded him this thread to explain why.

    This is our fan base.
