What I like about Bernard is ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, something Greene is very weak at.

Risking injury, I would never use Gio on ST. Teams is a nightmare for injuries.

Harris and Davis and look at the draft or FA for our starters.

in the second yes. if he's gone I say we take Lattimore in the later rounds or Taylor/Ellington in the third.

Gio Bernard looks like a prototypical modern halfback. He's not that tall but he's well-built, he's got a low center of gravity, he's got good hands. If he hits his potential he's a Matt Forte/Ray Rice kind of guy. He's exactly the type of playmaker the Jets have been missing for the entire decade.

Any chance we could trade back in the teens to grab Warmack?

We'd potentially have two second round picks to grab Bernard and maybe another OL or OLB.

We could also trade Tebow (maybe the Jags would be crazy enough for him to offer us a 2nd round pick? Lol)

The Ray Rice comp. is spot on.

I've seen Gio make numerous big runs on screen passes.

It's been a long time since the Jets have had a player to make plays out of the backfield. Leon was the closest player that could occasionally make plays similar to Ray Rice.

Yep. I think Gio is a perfect complement to what the Jets have going, whether it's Powell or Greene. Forget ground and pound: the Jets need a complementary running back who can make explosive plays and make plays out of the backfield. Bernard can do both.

Rex wants versatility, well, Bernard can provide it.

Completely agree with you and Bradway. I said it a little while ago, but if we had drafted Doug Martin last year, we might be in the playoffs and Sanchez's career might be saved... Gio Bernard is in that same mold (I think he's a little less powerful but has better instincts as a runner). Gio might be that piece on offense that gets us somewhat back on track.

Ray Rice, Doug Martin and a little less shifty but more powerful LeSean McCoy are all good comparisons I would say. I truly think this guy is the real deal.

I would absolutely love him in the 2nd, and even a trade down into the 20's would be okay with me.

For instance... Trade back, pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd and go Bernard, Terrance Williams, Ertz, Warford, Brandon Jenkins... I would LOVE that haha. Completely revamp the offense.

We have to address RB and WR so Bernard would be a nice pickup for us at 40.

Can Gio handle a workload like Ray Rice?

This would be so dope. Its the smart thing. Instantly transforms our offence. Do it!

Gio in 2nd, ok. Definitely a no if he rises higher, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him go in the 1st.

In my opinion, he is going to rise where you will see some teams in the late first round looking for a spark. With St. Louis having two first round picks, I would not be surprised if they go after Benard to help out Bradford's short game attack.

Ball has had too many carries in college, no thanks. Gio Bernard guy might be the real deal. To me it's down to Gio, Stepfan Taylor, or Johnathan Franklin.

Andre Ellington from Clemson is a guy we can get in the later rounds... They Play LSU tonight in the bowl so lets see how he does. He runs a unofficial 4.3-4.4. He kind of reminds me of CJ Spiller

W/ Gio we'd go from ground and pound to ground and around.
