If the wouldn't give up a 4th round pick for the guy, they probably won't trade a top 5 RB for him....

    File under, not happening

    Who wants MJD anyway?

Would be too much money and too much wear and tear. No thanks.

I agree with the first half of your post (the Revis stuff).

But MJD still has gas in his tank. He's only 27, he shared the ball his first 3 seasons and never rushed 200 times until the last 3 seasons. 2011 was his best year by far. And I don't know about his knees going? He ran 299 times for 1324 yds the year he played on a bad knee. He can play for my team with a bad knee anytime.

HUH? The guy is 27 and has only carried the load for the last 3 years! 2011 was easily his best (343 rushes for 1606 yds)! This was on a team that was absolutely no threat to pass the ball!

I don't know what some of you folks are smokin'

Just for the record, I know that this silly trade scenario will never happen for many of the reasons already posted, but let's not make up MJD is done shit just to make a point.

I never said just for or only for Tebow. Damn as soon as people see Tebow name they act like the go blind after that.

i love you how you start a thread about tebow, then harp on Tebow and call people Tebow nuts...

bottom line, your trade is not only unrealistic from a business standpoint it makes zero football sense for both parties involved...only a few months ago the jags wouldn't up the ante to a 4th round pick to get tebow and now you think theyll trade one of the best running backs in football for him straight up?

    go play madden...

there you go harping on tebow again...

ok...no for tebow straight up...no for draft picks, and no for anything else...

it makes no sense for either team end of story. have i said no yet?

it's not as silly as it sounds...

yes he is young in age...but he has also been the absolute focal point in Jacksonville for years plus a major knee surgery...

Running backs declining are less about age and more about # of total touches...and im willing to bet MJD is among the top if not the top in terms of total touches over the last few years.

is he done right now? no way...but I think in 2 more years he will fall off the RB cliff...if not 2013 which in all honesty he probably knows this and is why he's pushing for a better contract w/ 2 years left on his deal.

forget carries only (which is a high number too)...look at receptions also...and he was returning kicks for a while there too.

oh and lets also throw in the fact he's a small guy...and by small i mean in height and frame...he's got legs like tree trunks but his size absolutely plays a factor here too.

Yeah I don't think there is anyway we can trade for MJD and then afford to pay without trading a high priced player.

I would love MJD but this is just unrealistic.

Nope. Not that I am a huge fan of Tebow, I just don't think we can pay what MJD wants

Why not dump Tebow to the Pats? Brady won't last forever and they might take the bait. And you can get pleasure from the Jets beating both the Pats. and Tebow at the same time. Or does hooking Tebow and Hernandez back up scare you? It should. Tebow is a threat to any team that plays against the team he is on. You should be thankful he is a Jet.

I would love MJD but I don't think its a possibility for us to get him. Wasting too much money on O-Line and a QB who needs to step it up. Only Guy that deserves the money he's getting paid is Revis, that's talking about this last season only obviously. And I do like Sanchez but right now I believe he's getting g paid too much for what he's done. If were were spending less on some players MJD would be a perfect fit, take some stress off his back.

I say we trade VD for MJD. You never want to give someone VD, but better to give it then to get it.

If you're gonna create a trade scenario in your head, then you need to put all the imaginary pieces on the post. You said Tebow OR some draft picks.

I didn't create the scenario... you did.

Yeah we missed on our timing for needing a rookie QB because we needed one before the rookie scale. Getting a QB in the first round now is much much much much cheaper than before the wage scale

Sanchez is on the top 25 most payed NFL players ATM. I like him and honestly thing he'll step up, but that's too much for a 3 year pro who really hasn't done anything.. also this has nothing to do with MJD but I honestly think we should take a look at Braylon. I heard that Chaz is looking good but you never know if an injury goes down, Braylon can be there.

In today's NFL a team would be incredibly stupid to trade for a top RB like MJD and then have to pay him what he wants. How does it help the Jets to give up what it would take to get MJD in a trade - a top notch starter or high draft picks- and then have to pay him the $9-10 million a year he wants? The concept of trading for MJD is a huge non-starter.

The Jets are going to have to afford new contracts just to keep their own, including Revis. RBs just do not warrant big money contracts in today's NFL. Draft young backs, pay them a little and when contract time comes around, draft some more young cheap backs.
