Great post and poll. According to Mike Fatcessa Brown's arrest happened in the off season so its different than Braylon's arrest. In addition Fatty can't remember if Kareem McKenzie was suspended by the Giants and for good measure doesn't recall the Keith Hamiltion arrest. Thus in the view of the voice of integrity in NY sports, unless the Jets sit Braylon and maybe punish the other guys in the car with him, the Jets are a classless organization. Unlike the G men who are pure class. /endthread.
To say Fatty is classless is an understatement. What is funny is that he can rattle off any Jets offense off the top of his head like scripture but his memory is fuzzy when it comes to any offences the Giant players commit. He knew all the details of the Ellis thing right away but when McKensie was mentioned he was like "umm..I'm not sure the details"
Different my ass...U kill a guy in the off season, that shit follows u. Jets are classless? Like when divine intervention took place when the Jets beat the Bengals and the Chargers? This guy has no clue what the fuck he is talking about.
This. It's not that they should be benched because of a rule (there isn't one) but because of unwritten rules in the locker room. You commit a stupid crime during the season? Then you're benched for a game. Why? Because you didn't prove accountable to your team-mates. Simple as that...
Are you serious!? It's the exact same situation, but I've never heard a peep from the media about Ronnie Brown's DUI (or Vincent Jackson or Will Allen or any other NFL player with a pending DUI). That's what it has to do with Braylon. It's media hypocrisy!
No they should not suspend him, I am 100% against work intervining with something done on personal time unless it effects work ie; showing up to work after you've been out drinking and are drunk while on the job. If there is a conduct violation let the NFL deal with it, teams should not suspend a guy to set an example. What example does it set? We're willing to hurt our team and our fan base who spend thier hard earned money because a guy is stupid? This isn't the NBA where you play 82 games. This is the NFL where one game could mean the difference between a home game or evena bye in the playoffs or the 13th pick in the draft. I didn't see the Ravens running to suspend Ray Lewis with his little stabbing incident or the Giants ever running to punish LT for his off the field issues. Why should the Jets do so? What did the Dolphins do when Rany McMicheal beat up his pregnant girlfriend? If the league wants to punish him fine but it's really not something the team should be forced to do, this isn't college when a team cheats they self impose violations on themselves.
This one has a chart with all the teams. it is not updated with Braylon's DUI. http://theredzone.org/BlogDescription/tabid/61/EntryId/6308/Bengals-lead-the-NFL-with-31-arrests-since-2000/Default.aspx
