You do realize that before today Tannenbaum had traded away 13 picks and aquired 13. With todays traded (mind you the draft isn't over yet) he has traded away 15 picks and aquired 14. Hardly "giving them away by the handful." So that argument is just bullshit.

BTW, he traded down twice in his first draft, even aquiring a 2nd rounder for the following year from the Bears.

As for not finding a pro-bowler in later rounds - how about Washington?

And Tannenbaum hasn't overpaid for players - well other than Pace. And for your claims, we are NEVER in cap hell. In fact we went into this offseason with over 20 million in cap space.

when you say average you actually mean great right?? Crabtree is the best talent in this draft.. if he has a healthy career he will break records and be talked about as one of the best...... you must not watch a lot of college football ...

Calvin Johnson was a far superior WR coming out of the draft than Crabtree. Johnson I think will be great. Crabtree could be very good, but he may not have the speed to get separation, and he's not that tall either. I think he will be good, never great, and not bad.

Crabtree will be fine, but it was obvious that the Jets wouldn't be if we didn't upgrade the QB situation

You might be the worst poster on this board if you honestly believe any of that crap you just wrote.

No, obviously you just don't know how to see the difference between a great college player and a great NFL player. In the NFL, he's not going to be able to get the separation, he's a pretty pedestrian 6' 2", doesn't know how to run routes, and hasn't proved himself to be overly intelligent. I see a lot of big "ifs".

Crabtree has the "it" ...he plays big in big games.. he excelled in a west coast offense .. he ran every route in football he can play in the slot or down the sidelines.. he is strong and quick... we really dont know how fast he is in the 40 but I have seen enough of his games to know he is fast enough to be special in the NFL... I will go on record and say he will win the OROTY!!

read my post above this one.... doesn't know how to run routes???? He excelled in an NFL style west coast offense .. a very complicated one too !! Mike Leach had Crabtree lined up all over the feild... and he did everything he was asked to do.... even blocking .... Crabtree is the most NFL ready WR in the draft this year...

Texas Tech runs the Spread offense... not an NFL style offense at all...

Not many " studs " make the transition to the NFL game from that offense, and when they do they are average At best. Now I think Crabtree will be good, but he's no where near the talent that Calvin Johnson was last year, i don't care what his #'s say

You really never know. Our best receiver, Cotch, was a nobody coming out of college. Well, maybe not a nobody, but no team was tackling the other to get him.

How can any of you guys complain about not getting Crabtree?? Sanchez was a great pick, and you got him for next to nothing in terms of compensation. I think Sanchez has all the tools to be a great QB for the Jets, maybe not so much as a rookie, but soon after...

    1. Texas Tech doesn't run anything close to a west coast offense.

    2. Crabtree had a lot of key drops in "big" games for the Red Raiders.

    3. Mike Crab did not even come close to running "every route in football" - route running is one of the biggest question marks about his game.

    4. I'll go on the record and say he'll be a bust.

...just saw this giant clusterfuck of a post too.

Are you retarded? Since when does Texas Tech run a NFL style offense? Mike Leach calls a Run 'n Shoot offense where his QB throws the ball close to 50 times a game. The WRs run option based routes...

    Stop posting.

Yea.. I read that article too... this offense is a hybrid west coast offense... it takes advantage of "holes" in the secondary just like the WCO .... and by the way ... Crabtree has lined up all over the feild and has run every route there is to run.... watch more football

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ...really?

Texas Tech has run one of the most gimmicky offenses in college football for a while now. It's nothing close to a pro-style offense.

Passing the ball 50 to 55 times a game is going to make receivers look good...
