Without reading the thread I'm just going to answer the title's question.

No. We have two starting receivers and we have a young Kerley who is going to get some valuable PT. The offense is going back to base sets with two WR's, a TE and a FB. We are going to go back to ground and pound. If anything I would like to see them bring in another TE.

This! WR is not currently our problem, blocking to give Sanchez time or blocking to give Greene running lanes is.

I know you're making a joke, but have we even asked him? I mean, forget for a minute that he's only 6 feet tall and 190 pounds. It's the job of this FO to leave no stone unturned. The board's adoption of this exhaustive attitude is why we always bring up every single trade possibility that crosses the wire. Brandon Lloyd to right tackle is just another example. IMO, it's at least worth asking the guy whether he'd be amenable to the change. Of course, we might encounter a problem when he's forced to change his number. That's the biggest impediment I can see.

WR is not our biggest area of need right now. Not to mention, I think we're looking at being on the fringe of cap hell next year, so Tanny is trying to roll as much cap space over to next year as possible & stockpile as many draft picks as possible to replenish depth cheaply.

I think the only way Tanny eats into our remaining cap space and/or draft picks is if a too good to be true OL, DL or LB becomes available.

I don't want to trade for any receiver this year. I want to keep our draft picks and just sign a FA next year.

There's no point to waste a draft pick. If we could find a solid OL player I'd be interested in exploring that.

I disagree, it should be Holmes, Lloyd and Kerley. Burress is expendable, he's been playing just like someone who has been out of the game for two years and he's always hurt during the week but plays in the games. He just doesn't want to practice, which means he's not really on the same page as everyone else. It was the same story when he was with the Giants, always injured during the week, but playing in the games. What do you think the other players think about that? He was not an upgrade over Braylon Edwards. Burress should be cut.

Brandon Lloyd is talented no doubt, makes the most ridiculous catches look easy every week, but honestly he'd be wasted in this offense, he really would.

Only if they included Demaryius Thomas in the deal.

If we can get him for a 5th or lower, definitely. He's not fast but he's a precise route runner and has good hands.

Our mid-to-late round picks are usually wasted anyway. (Bilal Powell, Scotty McKnight, anybody?)

We should trade the Raiders for Taiwan Jones.

Yes, we've seen as much as we need to determine that Bilal Powell was a wasted pick.

    *slow clap*

I'm not saying that definitively, just giving my opinion. I think it was a wasted pick.

Just for giggles lets see what studs we could of missed out on based on our 5th/6th round picks the last couple of years.

Matt Slauson (ok this one actually worked out)
    Erik Ainge
    Marcus Henry
    Jacob Bender
    Jason Pociask
    Drew Coleman
    Andre Maddox
    Cedric Houston
    Joel Dreessen
    Erik Coleman
    Marko Cavka
    Derek Pagel
    Matt Walters
    Brooks Bollinger
    Jonathon Goodwin
    Windrell Hayes
    Tony Scott

so uhmm maybe its just me but our track record on 5th and 6th rounders suggest that this trade might justttt be slightly beneficial for us.

Then again I dont want to miss out on the next Jason Pociask !

Those are literally every single 5th/6th rounder we got since the 2000 draft.

The only benefit i see us having a 5th/6th rounder would be to move up in the 3rd/4th round because our track record is dog shit

We cant get the ball to our first reciever why would we trade for another one? I think we are fine as is at receiver. Sure the depth isnt there but we have weapons in Keller and Tomlinson. So the 3 receivers and those two give us 5 good options.

I can't imagine him being cheaper than a 5th round pick.

Hes basically a 9-10 game rental, who is an UFA at the end of the season, and has to learn your system on the fly. Which means he truly wont even be able to go on most downs for a couple of weeks.

The big plus to grabbing em tho is hell know ur system by playoffs, and having em for the rest of the season is a solid way to get him to want to stay here long term.

And the Panthers/Titans both already said not gonna happen, so who knows
