On if Shonn Greene will play Sunday…

We’ll see. Last week he wasn’t up and that was my decision. When you look at it now, I wish we would have because we had 40-some rushing attempts. It would have been good to get him in there. get him a few snaps. We just thought it was important to have an extra defensive lineman up so we’ll see how that goes.

I don't want to see Shonn Greene on the field on Sunday.

Don't get me wrong, I like Greene, I think he'll work out well for us. I'd love to see him used in his "closer" role against the Fins or the Bills or someone else.

But for the Patriots? I see no reason why anyone but a pro bowler should carry the football.

I doesn't really matter for me... it's only week 2 and TJ and Leon are both fresh... they can handle RB duties against the Pats. But I am curious to see how the kid plays so hopefully he does see a few carries...

    Lucky 23.
Am I the only one who thinks that Greene is going to be one of these guys always on the physio's couch?

He had two injuries in training camp: the sprained ankle early and some cartilage in his ribs late. The Jets are going to keep him off the field until both of those very manageable injuries have receded. The ribs would be painful to play with but I'm guessing they want to know the ankle is just fine before they roll him out there.

I'm guessing he debuts against Miami in week 5. That way he gets to make his first carry on Monday Night Football.

No, but you sure like to say it a lot. If that ends up happening, I can definitely vouch for the fact that you were calling it well in advance.

Agreed. As long as Jones and Leon's health hold up there is no reason to rush him back. ITs a good thing we have the depth at the position to let him heal up fully before getting him out there.

This kid better produce something soon. The only mention of his name has come when he's listed on the injury report.
