What the hell is wrong with these guys. Sheldons ceiling is higher than anybody else on our roster. (Don't know too much about Leonard) He's an idiot. One of my favorite players on this team on the field. Hopefully if anything this is a blessing in disguise as we have plenty of depth at the D line and maybe we get some leverage with negotiations with him now.
Yeah, my understanding on certain banned drugs - most notably weed - your first failed test you are not suspended, but rather enter the "NFL drug awareness/rehab program." It's not made public (per players union) but you have to get counseling and get drug tested more often ( maybe weekly during the season and random during off season?)

To be suspended under the substances of abuse policy means that he's a multi-time offender. If what I see on SBNation is correct, the first offense is enrollment in the substance abuse program, 2nd is a 2 game fine, 3rd is a 4 game fine & 4th is a 4 game suspension. If he's on his 4th offense already, he's got issues. It makes the who do you pay (Wilk/Richardson) debate much clearer in my opinion.
First thought was how it will help us with his contract, which is pretty "modern sports" of me. They don't suspend for failing one weed test, which unfortunately points to a more serious problem than getting high with his buddies once during offseason.
