I would rather see someone else get playing time. Sheldon will be on the shelf for awhile. Give him a couple drives per game, then let him play most of the 4th preseason game. That is it.

he needs as much time as possible. I would even play him the entire 4th game. I'm thinking let Williams play with the starters and let him take every other snap. I still believe after his reaction on the first day of camp that his ego can't handle "second string" and it may be part of his overall maturing process to make him take those reps.

I wonder what Sheldon's aggregate punishment will be when all is said and done? I'm hoping the league tacks on only an additional four games, and we avoid losing him for the season.

So damn disappointing with him. He's a big part of our strength, and it's a let down. The only positive I see is that perhaps Mo gets a little more love and they sign him. Mo is a rock.

I hope Sheldon realizes that he could have become another Jerome Brown, and that he's lucky to come out of all this with his health. It's time to grow up.

The leagues punishment is a big question mark at this point... Do they take all of the alleged accusations into account, or do they pick out what is most detrimental to their policy? I can see the punishment ranging from a fine/communtiy service and no loss of playing time to 4 games without pay. It is hard to compare previous judgement because the commissioner has been all over the place with respect to punishment fitting the crime.

The Jets are taking the right approach with Richardson at this point. If playing in the NFL means so little to him that he's willing to repeatedly jeopardize his career he should be playing with the backups. The NFL is going to suspend him for some more games, probably at least 4 additional games, and the Jets won't have him for most of the season. By the time he comes back he may not even be a starter given the other talent on the team.

It's a good thing for him to be thinking about every day as he tries to figure out whether he's going to put his life back together or have a tenth of the career he might otherwise have.

Cris Carter always said that the best thing that happened to him was Buddy Ryan cutting him. Sometimes you have to do what's right for your team and right for the player even if it's painful as hell when you have to do it.

Richardson's career is on a razor's edge right now, just like Josh Gordon's was a couple of seasons ago. Hopefully he pulls it all together and we have a great player but it's just as likely he'll let events rule him and watch it all go away.

Playing Sheldon the entire 4th pre-season game is gonna be a thing of beauty. Mark Sanchez will most likely be QB with Sheldon Richarson crashing into his face 40+ times. CAN'T WAIT! This game could give 'butt fumble' a whole new meaning.

Sheldon Richardson vs. Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow. I usually don't have much interest in that last preseason game, but that's must see TV.

Our All-Pro defensive lineman vs the Eagles' 3rd string O-Line going after the 2 QBs from that 2012 season? I'd watch it on repeat.

Even Leonard Williams may get some snaps in the 4th game. Him and Sheldon plowing through an o-line made up of tomorrow's burger flippers should be fun to watch. Sanchez and Tebow better wear their running shoes.
