We need to keep Ellis. You will not succeed in this league without a great DE, and he proved what kind of worth he has in the Patriots playoff game. He is a game changer when he shows up. Just wish he'd be a little more consistent is all.

Playing across from Dan Connolly helps also.

Look for Revis, Mangold, and Harris to all go out as Jets.

Oh I hope so. Of that list, I firmly expect Mangold to definately be a lifer. Revis I could see leaving late in his career as some other team overpays for him in his early 30's. Harris I'm not even sure if he will be here in 6 months much less a decade from now.

But if I had to pick 1 guy on the roster I was confident would be a lifer for us, it would be Sanchez.

Always have been a huge Ellis fan. He is one of those guys that would be a little painful to see in a different uniform.

Personally I think how Ellis comes back (if he does) depends on how the other signings before him go. If we get everyone back, I think we say goodbye to Ellis unfortunately unless he is willing to take a hefty pay cut compared to what he could make from another team.

If we have a problem keeping a few of high priority free agents, Jets brass sign him (sadly for more money than the previous scenario) as a type of mini crisis management to ease fan base with the return of arguably the teams most popular player.

Yea I agree on the Sanchez part. Our team and Rex's career path depends a lot on Mark. Could not be happier though, we took a chance on drafting a franchise qb and I think thats what we got.

I want him, he is one of my all time favorite Jets and he's 1.5 away from tying the Jet record and obviously 2 would break it.

As others have mentioned he deserves a ring, and I can't wait to see him hoist that trophy in Indy!

I think you have to count stats from before '82 as well.. Gastineau had 107.5 total, Klecko had 77.5. So Ellis is 5 away from second on the list. I'm sure he could make it if he were given another year, and definitely if he's given another 2.

^ Ray Edwards is too small for a 3/4 defense i think.
