When you're returning that many kicks in one half, you're bound to return one if you have a decent KR.
If he could still do what he just did, he should be doing it wearing green.... regardless of how good Leon is, or of how bad a corner he might have been...He was a pro bowl special teamer last year.... Consider the thread hi-jacked. Apologies.
I found this quote trying to get some info on any suspensions http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2741136 Now that's for a positive test, of course, not the possession or the overall criminal package here, so it could be harsher in the end. But it does give us some hope.
Unless the league suspends him, i highly doubt Mangini will based on what the article said. Now if ESPN and the media call for a suspension and give the Jets pressure, i can see a 1 game suspension max.
Sorry, but the team has to suspend Ellis if the league doesn't. You have to have some sort of consequences, even in difficult times when we need the player. Ellis did something incredibly stupid. Strip him of his captaincy and sit him vs. San Francisco
<sarcasm> Damn straight! Must of been some honky cop looking to fuck up some rich nigga! Bullshit!!! </sarcasm>
Technically, the only person Buress almost killed was his unborn kids.... On a serious note though, if he was high while operating his vehicle, he should get locked up. DUI is deadly serious!
Driving while stoned definitely impairs your depth perception. How many of us here remember as teenagers firing up a big ol' bowl, getting behind the wheel, and then stopping 20 feet from the stop sign at the end of the block?
He wasn't baked yet, he was charged with posession.Probably he was going to get baked on the way home. It was 8:30 sat. am. He got off 287, and on to 24. He was going TO practice. If it was the NBA, I would say stoned...Also people that drive stoned tend to drive too slow. Had he been high, he probably would not have gotten pulled over in the first place. Here's my take. Cop Cruising down I287 (And it's a local, not a Trooper), probably driving 70ish. Ellis probably was driving 80+ which at 8:30 in the am would not be shocking. Odds are the Douche was in a stealth car with no cherries. Ellis Pulls up, t, pulls even then exits onto 24 to go to Florham park. Dick sees black guy, stops follows him onto 24 pulls him over.
I heard Cotchery on WFAN the other day. He said that the NFL will provide drivers who are former cops to drive players around to clubs and whatnot as part of the league's efforts at keeping their players safe. I'm guessing that type of wingman might have cramped Ellis' style if he liked to smoke when he went out.
