9-7 in 2008 w/ one of the easier scheds EVER, let's not forget they were 4-12 the previous year. The 2008 Miami Dolphins won 11 against a similar sched, NE w/ Cassell won 11 w/ a similar sched. Let's also not forgte our last playoff win was 5 years earlier, our last div rd win was 11 years earlier, we have 4 road playoff wins in 2 years- 1 more than we had in the rest of our history. Rex has done a phenomenal job here doubling our all time AFC title game apps in just 2 years. Are we consistent enough? No, does he have areas to improve? no question but that doesn't take away all the great he has done for this franchise- he is the best thing to happen to this franchise in my lifetime.
Compared to TJ Conley??? You damn right I did.!!! TJ Conley absolutely sucks and Wetherford couldn't possibly be a worse punter. Hell, YOU can probably punt better than Conley.
Conley hasn't been a reason we aren't as good as last year and Weatherford killed us in the playoffs. Weatherford was better in the reg season but there's a long list of reasons this team hasn't been as good and he is way down the list.
With all the lousy field position Conley gifted us with this year, I'm sorry Junc, but he's on the list man and not that far down either. Do you really think Conley will get better should we make the playoffs? Highly doubtful man.
we have given up lousy FP more through TOs than our punting. 2010 Weatherford: 84 punts, 42.6 avg., 38.1 net, 42 in 20, 4 TB, 27 returns, 299 ret yds 2011 Conley: 78 punts, 43 avg., 38.7 net, 25 in 20, 5 TB, 25 returns, 234 ret yds Is this that big of a difference? we are not losing b/c of punting even though weatherford overall was better in '10 than Conley this year.
We are not as good as we all had hoped we would be this year. The lack of play on both lines has hurt us. Our running game since Mangold returned, has improved, although we don't seem to give it a chance. Our lack of a pass rush, and our safeties lack of speed is a double whammy. We need a few heads to roll.
