The JETS let go of all their heart.
Robbie, Sam, Adams along with many others..
The purge put together a whole new crew and there is no leadership rn, no stars.
Mosely? Maye Maybe but hey, Where are them appointed captains. Aren't they supposed to be leaders?

The JETS NEVER build a culture but wtf would Woody know about that?

Until the Franchise is moved back to its RIGHTFUL Home of Queens, NY, and move into their OWN Stadium, the Suck will continue. Carry On....

Oh, and they are currently sporting the worst Uniforms in the History of the sport. Need the Johnsons to die I guess...

    So many reasons:

    - rookie QBs on decent teams seem to do OK (see Josh Allen; Lamar Jackson) - a rookie QB on a terrible team is a recipe for even more disaster
    - Jets have had a bottom 5 ranked OL for the last 5 years and seem completely unable to fix the issue despite the fact that none of the starters from 3 or 4 years ago are even on the line now
    - we have rookies everywhere - Jets are the youngest team in the NFL by avg age - there is no leadership, no culture
    - you can have a rookie HC, you can have a rookie OC, you can have a rookie QB - having all 3 at once with no veteran QB on the roster just seems madness
    - we have nothing at corner back - the last time we drafted a DB in the first 3 rounds was in 2013 and 2014 when in all 3 cases we got it horribly wrong which may have made then gun shy on the position
    - we have no pass rush and haven't had a decent pass rusher since John Abraham left in 2006
    - we have no identity as a team as a result of changing coaching staff and philosophy every 2-3 years
    - worst performing team in the draft over last 10 years so no depth at all

the list just goes on and on

The Jets culture is the Johnson's culture.

Accomplish nothing that isn't served to them on a platter because they're incompetent and rudderless.

They are the youngest team in the league. It takes time. This team is comparable to the 2019 Miami rebuild. They looked awful started 0 and 9 until they played Gase then finished the year strong.

The defense looks solid which is really encouraging. The OL looks very bad, the TEs and RBs cannot pick up blitzes, receivers are dropping 7 or 8 balls each game. The QB looks solid but he seems to be regressing and becoming more hesitant and gunshy with the hits.

There is a lot of room for improvement on the offense. But any improvement will make everyone's jobs easier. At somepoint things will click and things will get better. But with a young team we should listen to Saleh when he said it will get worse before it gets better. Hopefully, we will see improvement after the bye week. Both JD and Saleh warned us all summer that this was going to be a painful ugly year and that their job is to ignore the fan noise and continue to methodically build the team. Asking Jet fans to be patient and to still have hope is hard. But, this is what a complete rebuild looks like. It is not pretty. It looks like there is no hope and things will never ever get better. But, young teams do improve. Judge this team by how they play in December not September.

I agree with what's been said (young players, inexperienced staff) but I also get the feeling the vets on this team are over it. Just collecting pay checks.

The team played hard yesterday. The defense never gave up and never stopped hitting. On the two yard line with 3 minutes to go they forced that fumble and Phillips made a great return. With a minute to go the offense still wanted the ball. This is not a Gase kind of bad team. They still care and they still play hard. Just too many big mistakes. This team can be criticized for a lot but they do play hard and with passion.

While you were probably being tongue in cheek, I do think both these are valid factors. MetLife will always be Giants Stadium II. Until they get their own place, preferably in NYC, they will always be of limited relevance and identity, SB III notwithstanding.

And these new unis… all I see now are the putrid, laughingstock Jets of the early/mid 90s. They need to go back to the Namath/Parcells classics.

Joe Douglas has made a few good moves, but, he is too cheap. He should have gone all in and acquired a solid Guard or Center when the top free agents were available. You can't build the entire team through the draft. Douglas stayed with the same crummy line he built last year and you get what you paid for.

I started watching some more of other teams games on sundays and it is ridiculous how many teams have former Jets in their starting lineups.
    -

even if you just think about the QB position, we have bemoaned the fact that the Jets can't ever find a good QB, but our Jets are 0-3 and lost to 2 former Jets QBs who are 6-0 combined right now

The only solid guard available in FA was Thuney. He did go all in but Thuney wanted KC. It is nice to say he should sign great OL FAs but there were none available. It is rare teams let good FA OL go. Signing Moses was pretty huge and likely as good as one will find in FA.

    Dead serious.

There were times when this team had the likes of Curtis Martin or Freeman McNeil to keep the defenses honest or to gut out those couple yards needed to move the chains.

It has been a while since we had a weapon on offense that scared anyone.

I'd be happy with another Thomas Jones.

And the opposite is true as well. Players that underwhelm and get criticised here go elsewhere and look better, maybe not every time but often enough. Get to the root of this and I suspect the problem begins to right itself.

The ideas aren't that bad in theory, the players aren't that bad, I'm not even sure the execution is that bad but every year improvements on paper seem to lead to worse performances on the field. There just seems to be deep seated problems within the organization that no amount of player turnover plus culture, coaching and FO change can address. All the losing can't help either. It's like a cancer that spreads to every member of the roster - accepting mediocrity and being good enough most of the time but its going to be very hard to start winning when you have a fair number of the organization accepting being just good enough.

Without hope, what's the point of rooting for the Jets?

It is sad as a Jet fan we are not necessarily looking for a win but for the team to look competent. We have such low expectations and this team cannot even meet them.

Other teams look like they're playing a different sport than the Jets. Even the other bad teams like the Jaguars and Texans are able to move the ball so much more effectively than us. We honestly look like a high school offense. That's been true for years.
