I find him to be a little too conservative, I want to see him be more aggressive, I want to see him throw the ball down the field ... he's good in short passing games but overall deep ball isn't there.
Yea, I think his arm strength isn't necessarily there but I have read on Twitter, don't remember who said it actually, that they want people to watch out for his arm strength which usually never had to be on display in his offense. Not sure I buy that whole thing, but I guess we'll find out.
For sure, looks like he will visit the Jets at some point. I still can't see him being drafted in the first 2 rounds. This could be a good draft to double dip at QBs. I want to move on from Petty and Hack completely.
I agree. Although I'm not sure the Jets would man up and release both of them. I can see them moving on from Petty rather than Hack. If they move on from both it'll mean Macc has recognized his mistakes and wants to wipe the slate clean.
Doesn't seem fair, does it? Of the "name" QBs, you have Mayfield, Allen and Falk on the North team, and only Rudolph, who I read earlier isn't supposed to play, on the South squad. Reminds me of the choose up games we used to have on our block when we were kids.
Rudolph is in a walking boot now, and may not do anything till combine. Jets met with Tanner Lee today :/. Maybe they want to start off with the worst guy there so things can only get better?
Rudolph was probably asked to look at the left side of the field and throw in that direction, hence his foot injury.
This is per Tony Pauline’s Twitter “While most of the league's GM's have long left the Senior Bowl, Mike Maccagnan of the NY Jets is still in Mobile collecting information on the players” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For him, good. His size metrics came in a little small, as predicted, but size turns off a lot of people evaluating. His leadership, competitiveness, eagerness to play football and most importantly; accuracy are shining right now though, according to the things I've read. Think, right now, even if he doesn't play in the senior bowl game, Mayfield has himself graded as a 2nd round pick, at worst. If he has a great combine, I think he locks up a top 20 spot and then from there teams will probably be willing to trade up to get him in the top 10. Frankly, I'd much prefer Mayfield over Allen, Jackson or Rudolph.
I think Baker's stock is going to rise to the point where we will need to jump up to 3 or 4 to get him
To me Darnold, Baker, Rosen are Tier 1. Allen, Falk, Jackson, Rudolph Tier 2. I believe there is a good chance one of the Tier 1 QBs make it to 6 but to ensure 1 of them Jets should be trying like hell to get 3 or 4. Giants and Broncos are the keys, we gotta hope like hell that Cousins goes to either the Browns or Broncos, preferably Broncos.
I just can’t buy in to this train of thought. I don’t see baker as a top 10 pick. I think the hype will really die down when team boards are set and start getting leaked out.
One of the posters mentioned the "Pack Mentality" of the sports media, it happens every year, it's the same 15 players that are spoken about because they don't put in the time to look at any other players. It's happening again this year, but as we see it unfold you will see these guys come back to earth and when the dust settles there may be 2 top flight QBs that are legit 1st round picks and the rest will be reaches. What I believe you will see at the draft is the BPA will be taken again over the hyped up QBs, Barkley, Chubb, an offensive lineman, Minka Fitzpatrick, all these guys will be chosen in top 10 because they are the known and teams don't want to pass on good football players.
