With no FA signings....... 1) WR - Cooper/White/Beckham 2) CB - A number to chose from. 3) Toss up between OL or QB depending on BPA
Just a reminder to everyone listing a 4th round pick.....................we keep Harvin and we lose it to the Seahawks.
The 10 Mil+ isn't that big an issue given our cap space it's really a case of is the guy we get in the 4th a better option then Harvin? EDIT: Unless we somehow end up with Dez and Cobb in which case Percy can go to Giants for all I care.
If we don't take an OLB in the first I would really like to add some youth to the linebacking core at ILB. Unless of course a can't miss prospect falls to the second round.
Cap Space has nothing to do with it. Harvin is way overvalued at 10 Mil. Not happening!!! Who" we get in the 4th a better option than Harvin", that is one of the idiotic statements I've read here in a long time. The Jets will not resign Harvin at 10 Mill +. Gremlin your lack of knowledge on the draft and free agency is very clear, please don't dig yourself a bigger hole.
I'd prefer a swing tackle to develop/backup, but if Harris goes…. http://draftbreakdown.com/video/stephone-anthony-vs-north-carolina-2014/
Cap space is applicable as we're nowhere near going over it and therefore keeping Harvin isn't that big a hit as we're not having to choose between him and a new contract for Mo. The Jets shouldn't resign Harvin for $10M+ plus as you quite correctly point out that he really isn't worth that kind of cash but we have to make that decision prior to draft day so wheter we can't rely on picking up Cooper or Co. and its really down to the front office to land someone like Cobb, Dez or whoever to give our WR's some variety and/or excellence that we're missing. If we get nowt in FA and are unable to get Harvin to restructure (which he probably will anyway) then we go into draft day with just Kerley & Decker and hope we pick up a Leon Wahington as opposed to a Kerry Rhodes. As for my lack of knowledge on FA and Draft.........I totally agree that I've no idea who we'll sign or who'll we will pick in the first, second or third rounds. I'm just spitballing which I though we were pretty much all doing in this subforum. I had no idea that any members were in the front office or related to the decision makers and may of been negativly influenced by any comments I made and thus the responsibility for a terrible draft and subsequent seasons of failure would rest so heavily on my shoulders.
As of now, I'd say CB might be the top option as I think they'll add one via free agency and perhaps another in the draft. Guys like Kevin Johnson, Jalen Collins, Marcus Peters or even Byron Jones and Alex Carter seem to fit what Bowles wants in corners and could be around in the 2nd. Value and need should be there and somebody who could play or start very early on could be had Maybe it's a spot for an OLB or ILB too. But as many others have said, it really depends on what transpires in free agency and the first round.
Just because the Jets have money to spend, doesn't mean they need to significantly overpay anyone, and Harvin is not worth 10.5.
