I'm finding it hard to pick a number given the likelihood that injuries or exceptional health will probably be the biggest factor for the Jets this season. If they get really lucky on the injury front with no major injuries they could win 10 games.
Going with 9-7 but really hoping for a huge surprise and a division championship at 11-5, one can dream, can't one?
So many variables and unknowns this season. Best case, shoot for the moon scenario ... Bowles turns out to be a great head coach, we stay mostly healthy and we go 12-4 winning most of our close games. Worst case scenario, we have a rash of injuries at key positions and finish 4-12 again. I went 7-9 figuring something in the middle.
Before the Sheldon suspension I was thinking 11-5..after I figured 9-7 and maybe a WC birth. 10-6 seems like a real possibility right now though. And even in our division that should be enough to earn a spot in the playoffs.
If we can go 3-1 and then actually get Richardson back for our 5th game we can definitely make a run for a playoff bearth. That defense may be seriously scary.
However i must say.. with the way things are looking.. i don't see a game we shouldn't be favored in for the next 3 games.. the patriots would be in my mind on paper our first loss.. but then again that could always go either way.. and after that we got jags and raiders.. that could be a possible 7-1 but we're the Jets so i won't get beside myself.. just saying on paper we SHOULD be at least 7-1.

I thought 7-9 and now I am upgrading to 8-8 since we beat the Colts, which I didn't think was gonna happen.
