There was a time not too long ago that Becton wasn't as good as our rookie. All he needed was to get coached up. I would imagine that goes for Mitchell too. Keith Carter has to go along with the entire CS to a man.
I have no doubt that Carter, along with the rest of the coaching staff, will be gone, but whoever they bring in next will be just as bad, maybe worse. This only gets fixed by the next incompetent GM just stumbling into players who are good enough to overcome terrible coaching.
Good point. But yeah just the whole series of events over the past 2 years is beyond just consistently sucking on the football field.
I feel ya brother, I really do... I'm not really sure what to say or do. As most of you know, I've profanely...VERY PROFANELY voiced my opinion in different threads, and it wasn't good. I'm not sure there is a whole lot left to be said. The "Captain of the ship" is a clueless dipshit and that's not going to change. We've now gotten a good look at his equally dip shit child and that, my football friends, is the nail in the coffin. The long term prospects of this organization fall somewhere between getting hit by lightning AND hitting the $1 Billion lottery. I've toyed with dropping the team and I know that's never going to happen. I'll always keep an "eye" on the green. Which is what I'll do going forward. Just keeping an eye. No investment of any real time....just kind of sit back and document the clown show.
Interesting point on Carter…for Becton’s rookie year (his best year for us), didn’t we have a different OL coach? I can’t remember for sure, but I thought Carter came in for Becton’s 2nd year Could be wrong though
I don’t know but it seems like everybody those guys pick suddenly turns immortal. I’d rather not take the chance.
It's definitely possible. Sad thing is, we're probably looking at a 7-10 year timespan before this team is ready to do anything beyond competing for an 8-9 win season.
At this point I PRAY for a 6 or 7 year span. Reality dictates this team might be on in to the mid 2040's before it's ready. Almost assuredly more than a decade. It's a damn tragedy.
it took the Lions 2 years to go from 3 wins to just losing the NFC Championship game so it can be quick - the main difference is there was a quality QB on the roster to build around and unfortunately that is the cornerstone piece that the Jets haven't go right in the last 40 odd years.
